Man I needed more stars and flags for this one, you wrote that truth down with a knife, bravo.

And as for Obama and really this comment is for our sheep brethren, sadly it seems that no matter what those A-holes say and no matter what they do our sheep brethren still continue to maintain their air of obliviousness, robotically going about their daily lives. Even most of you reading this are part of the sheeple, you need to be more than aware of what is really going on, you need to actively pursue a recourse.

I fear the only thing that will wake them is when........... the soldiers come marching into their living room.........to arrest them because they were caught on video out five minutes past the 8PM Federal curfew.........please won't they wake before its too late.

It's time for everyone of you to join the occupy movement.........wake up and get out here, your revolution has began without you.......if we don't all act at once and if we all don't stick together our time will pass and our resistance will fizzle out and we will fail..... we will fail our children........ we will fail our country. If we all just spent a day or two a month all of our parks would remain full to the brim 24-7.

I have attended 2 occupy rallies here in Mississippi 100% of the dozen or so that showed up were pushing a Socialist viewpoint. I do not agree with it because history shows it doesn't work. I cannot and will not stand beside a movement that seeks to diverge from a constitutional republic. A movement that is financed by the very institutions they seek to change. Its not a revolution its a joke. Any real revolution will never work in the US. We are a nation divided, until we can agree on a return to Americas foundation people are just wasting their time. Just merely protesting is considered an act of low level terrorism.

I agree we all need to wake up; realize that those that seek to push a NWO are the real enemy of the economy and freedom.

As far as the argument that the 1% don't pay they fair share, no kidding, the current system is rigged to make the rich, richer and the poor, poorer.

The income tax is unconstitutional and it only pays part of the interest on the national debt. Excessive taxation is economic slavery.

If you want any revolution to succeed you need the hearts and minds of the people. Occupy will never have that.

Dear OP. At least have the decency and honestly not to take the President out of context.
The President was speaking only about the disproven concept of 'trickle down economics.' Not to Free markets and individualism. Dishonesty doesn't work on ATS.

The govt IS to blame for being complicit in and allowing the Goldman Sachs crowd a room at the Inn wherein they have taken the public to the cleaners. Govt allowed the baillouts. Govt supported it. Govt is a very bad parent right now and the answer is partially to get rid of the Nanny State and let the bad companies go bankrupt. In fact that is how the free market is supposed to work, but govt gets in there and interferes with what it thinks is the solution because they serve the bankers and the bankers serve them too. If it were not for politicians who let Goldman Sachs wag the tail, the public would not have been used as it has. If we had good people in office, Goldman Sachs would never have been given this chance, nor would Fannie/Freddie have been allowed its abuses. Barney Frank was Congressional Oversight and he did NOT do his job, he was in fact on the take. Greed in govt is at least half of the problem.
It was collusion in the govt which allowed the Federal Reserve Act to be passed in the first place which gave the banking cabal a room at the Inn and to steal all the money from the public over the last century. Who was President then? Woodrow Wilson.
Read G Edward Griffin's book, "The Creature From Jekyll Island" to find out how bankers and their cronies in govt ruined this country with the Federal Reserve.

I'll help you with a YouTube of one of his lectures. I will post part 1 and you could go on YouTube and find the rest

Here is a radio show nutshell version

a very nice post and thanks. You are absolutely correct, the OWS crowd is overwhelmingly socialist oriented and that is why Pelosi, Obama, Soros and other socialists and communist party members support them. Soros knows full well that if it appears loose and unorganized and grassroots it won't be considered astro-turf, to use dear Nancy's term.
Soros is anti Capitalist although he, like other socialists, use Capitalism to pillage others. He has been doing it since he was 14 and confiscating wealth for the Nazis.

Obama DID NOT say "...the Founders were wrong". The title of this thread is misleading and prejudiced.

I am certainly not comfortable supporting Obama. However, on what he said here I must agree. The simple facts are as follows:

Taxes for the rich were slashed dramatically about a decade ago by Bush, with the promise it would create jobs. Those tax cuts are still in place right now. So where are the jobs? FOX News will tell you that if we allow the temporary tax breaks to expire and taxes on the rich go up, no jobs will be created. But the point is this. They are in place now but jobs are for the most part not available to the unemployed.

At the time that the rich got their big tax cut a decade ago, Bush also was able to remove regulations that protected the people from scams in the mortgage markets and guess what. Scams were the order of the day after the regulations were eliminated. The housing/mortgage bubble burst at the end of Bush's term and look around. This is what you have as a result.

Now we are told that if we will just keep the tax breaks for the rich and remove all remaining regulations from business that suddenly we'll have jobs and prosperity. If you believe that you are not paying attention.

"Trickle Down" does not work, never has.

And that's EXACTLY the reason why it should be abundantly clear that any politician uttering the words "trickle down economics" or "free market" should NOT get anybody's vote. They might just as well come out and say "listen up guys, I'm a bought sock puppet...but pretty please with a cherry on top vote for me".

i dont say its perfect but we have more regulation and its better than in your country..the problem is that the big corporations are too free to do what they want...THATS the problem...and its called : free market.

You may have more regulation, but it is far from better.
So, instead of Corporations controlling the Govt, Germany has the Govt running amok on it's own.

Yeah
way better.

Except...until they had to bail out the rest of Europe, the Germany economy was a total powerhouse compared to the US post-2009. Lower unemployment than the US (faaaar lower), and hell...go to Switzerland and our unemployment is around 8-10% fo that in the US. And Switzerland has more government intervention than the US, that's for sure

Salaries are higher in Germany too, and healthcare's better too...

Yeah, and the Swiss didn't build their wealth by being the bank for the Nazi's and rich people.
Wonder how long other country's money will prop up yours?

And the US didn't build up by stealing the land from the native Americans

Don't forget all the free labor and the wonderful economic opportunities America got after it stole places like Hawaii just to grow pineapples.

The stance of The Founding Fathers applied for the era it was written and never factored in the current predicament or climate whereas private interests are directly threatening Govt itself.

So in this regard Obama is in fact right!

Thanks to grand old American socialism, I had roads to drive on to get here where my computer is plugged into a communal grid laid down by union workers and that has allowed me to read anti-union and socialist BS. Right here in the US.

Ironic if it were not for US socialism, I never would have read this thread.

I refer you to the video of Griffin on radio show, he talks about exactly that, he says our Founding Fathers knew that scoundrels could easily come in and run govt. The private sector is using govt, but this does not make the private sector inherently bad. This in my view is the mistake that collectivists make, that while they espouse nanny statism, they seem to think govt will take care of everything great if only the darn private sector would go away. The fact is that humans in general are prone to corruption without truth and morality in their lives. Humanism and communism is responsible for replacing God Government and absolute moral values with moral relativism and Statism.

Hey, at least they provide us with the opportunity to agree on something...doesn't happen often if I remember correctly

It's really quite scary how the people are being played. And the Euro crisis is fabricated by them as well, and the fabricated solution is to "centralize power" further to make it even easier to control entire countries.

Not sure if you read this already, but if not, read it. Yes, it's 8 pages, but well worth a read. After reading it my first thought was "And this is legal, ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!???"

That is why they never hindered avenues for us to use Govt's claws and fangs in order to leverage those private entities who threaten Govt directly.

The People may be in final control of this nation but it is up to Govt and the responsibility thereof to ensure that Govt using it's full weight, reach, authourity and claws to ensure that private interests don't dominate the political aspect nor dominate the nation itself.

Smaller Govt is clearly not an option and calls for it are to be non starters from now on out. It never works.

They knew of The Rothschilds threat and ensured the central bank be nationalized and Governmentally owned and operated and when each and every last one of the Founding Fathers were dead the push for a privately held and controlled central bank rose and they got it.

Are you using wireless? That means you would be piggy backing off some private users bandwidth with or without their permission. If you are not using wireless and not using an air card which you would have paid for, you must be using POTS, in which case your statement is partially true, but someone still has to pay for it and likely you would have paid Juno or some other inexpensive ISP to get Internet Access. Public library access? Don't libraries have their own computers? Hotel room, you still paid for it.
Hacker? Then it is unauthorized access.

Some isp providers will allow you to roam with a laptop and piggyback on WiFi feeds as and it's free as long as you stay within a certain zone (like 5 miles from your house). The entire city of Jersey City, NJ is one giant WiFi hotspot! As long as you have a valid, isp account and the card or whatever you are using to connect is linked to your account you could pretty well piggyback on your cities WiFi hotspot linkup.
