Before you say "he is just ill" please read the entire article. There is evidence that suggest there was a coup.

Well well well... Pakistan is where all the action is at these days. OBL living there, silent coups, a terror hotspot and our ally in the war on terror. I think Pakistan should be renamed the HOME of terror.

Close associates of the president told the Associated Press he is currently "unwell," but did not provide specifics. His condition did not appear to be life-threatening, they said, speaking on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the issue.

Zardari's office said he was undergoing routine medical tests and a check-up "as planned."

Seems as though there isn't a coup taking place at all, and there's nothing to suggest this, instead he's simply ill and sought out medical attention. Also, it's worth pointing out that it's quite unnecessary to have your title as "PAKISTAN PRESIDENT FLEES", in big capital letters. I mean talk about misleading..

^ No, that has been reported in the last few days, to cover up what really has happened. Another Middle Eastern Country has seen a regime change. This one happened right under our noses...

Rumors among the masses may instigate a real Regime change?
If enough people believe something has occurred then they will act accordingly.

As usual, regime change(s) in Pakistan is nothing new.

Their neighbors (india) might know a lot more about it but I'm sure they'll wait it out.

Beware all,

If a true military coup is happening in Pakistan this is extremely serious to say the least, more than Iraq, more than Afghanistan.

India and Pakistan Border is besides the area around Israel the most dangerous in the world for a nuclear Armed Conflict.

China would be unhappy to say the least

Russia to

USA is already operating there and we all know the plans to send in immediate troops to "secure" nuclear weapons in Pakistan in such an event.

India would make a move

The Swat Valley would run with blood,

RUSSIAN< CHINESE< PAKISTANI< FUNDEMENTALISTS
There is as much chance of a major Nuclear conflict or some serious War not like Afghan or Iraq, as if Iran and Syria moved on Israel.

1. The Paki military whom rule the country in reality, had often depended on US's help, despite its usual duplicity. They know where their bread in that improverished country is buttered, free from obligations that India, China, and Russia would never offer except for US insistance for terrorism to be curtailed.

2. The civilian power had resorted to using religion as a means to stoke up power for themselves, organising and funding civil protest against US, which is indirectly telling US to get lost, so that without US support, Paki military becomes history.

3. With the civilian power running away, the Paki military had probably finally saw the light, that trucking with infidel radicals misuing religion to protect their way of life is a no-brainer and no gainer for the progress of the nation, afterall, at heart, the paki military too love their country.

4. Will the masse uprise? With est 60 billion US funds to help pakistan economically and removing radicals at the same time at no cost to them, do you think they will do so? They too know which side of the bread is buttered and whom offers buttered bread and whom offers only tainted toxic loaves.

The Pakistan military have been playing one side off against the other for year's now and there are many different factions within their Armed Forces and Security Services some with distinctly opposing views and beliefs.

If there has been some sort of coup, and we are far from certain of that at present, which side will prove victorious?
Will it provoke internal strife and conflict etc?
How will neighbouring nations react?

There will be quite a few countries watching events closely, none more so than India who will not allow Pakistan's nuclear arsenal to fall into fundamentalist control.

Quite a few of us have long been saying that this could be the powder keg that escalates if ignited - let's hope nothing serious comes of it.

You kidding me? Israel has had the bomb for ages and never once resorted to it, wars notwithstanding. India/Pakistan are a MUCH bigger threat.

In the event of a extremist takeover. While their army certainly has extreme elements, they are not the Taliban.

Dont see that at all. Musharif was the military ruler of Pakistan for quite some time. Also, notably when they detonated their first nuclear device. If you ask me, they almost seemed more stable back then, not less.
