Your right... In fact, in all my years of education in the Catholic Church I was never taught that the Bible was a historical document (although there
are some historically accurate accounts held within it's pages) but rather, a spiritual document.
As someone who believes in a higher power or a "conscious" Creator, I agree with you that religious beliefs and science can be reconciled and are
not necessarily mutually exclusive. It seems to me that an omnipotent creator would simply set the wheels in motion knowing what the outcome would be.
