This is really interesting. Mammoth's soon to walk on Earth will be like the most amazing thing I will ever see on Earth. This species existed 10,000 years ago . Its so mind boggling that scientist can take a DNA from a bone narrow they found in a soil, and they will implant it in a elephants egg. What if it does not turn out to be a mammoth, what if it turns out to be another animal, cool right? I say yes. If this cloning goes successful, I think that's the sign of the future, sooner or later, we personally will like to clone something for our own use. Imagine a winged bird with your face, sitting at your house lol. Imagine a lion with your body or with your face. Its all about DNA. DNA can change anything, it can create life that we don't even know of.

End of food crisis, i reckon you could feed a small village for a week or 2 on 1 of these ctreatures lol. It would be awesome to see them roaming again, problem is i do not think they would be able to live in this world with all of the changes that have happened. Things go exstinct for a reason.

Come on 2016 - i accept that challenge! Sauce or no sauce? I wonder if you could do a "pigs in blankets" type dish with mammoth (sausage rolled in bacon)? Yum yum.

I wonder if they will have a tolerance for our viruses and diseases?

Will they have the immune systems of a modern elephant or the immune system of a mammoth?

What's next? A T-Rex running rampant in San Deigo?

....either way, our descendants will have one crazy future thanks to us!

To be fair, there are not many original threads on ATS. Most things on here are reworkings of older posts (whether realised or not).

That is why i sometimes get a bit confused when mods close threads for this reason - if they did it for all topics, there would only be a couple of posts a day!

I'm sure I read something in the native American prophecies that one sign the end is near is that beasts from long ago will roam the Earth once more...
I forget the link, but I am sure I read this recently.

Lets hope they are wrong.

Just as long as they don't try to clone dinosaurs. We all know how well that worked out.
I thought mammoths were already here. Manny and that one that sounds a lot like Queen Latifah.
Although I wouldn't mind ridding around on a mammoth. It'd come in handy during those bad winters. Hmm, people riding around on T-Rexes and mammoths kind of sounds like Free Realms.
