HUNTSVILLE -- Former Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell still feels upset about the shooting death of his service dog DASY almost three years after the fact.
When the local war hero took the stand Thursday in the cruelty to non-livestock animals trial of Alfonso Hernandez, one of the two accused in the case, Luttrell said he was so angry the night his dog was killed that he drew a pistol on the car the suspects were riding in.

Its a shame the dog wasn't legally some kind of...well an analogy will do better. Shoot a police dog and its the same as shooting as police man as far as the law is concerned. I'm sure you can see where I'm going with that...
2 years? So they are out in 8 months with good behaviour? What an insult.
Animal cruelty, along with other kinds of cruelty needs tougher sentencing. Sickos tend to start with small animals and work their way up.

So a Navy SEAL lost his team in Afghanistan, and he receives a dog to help with the loss, and the dog is named after his teammates, and some guys decide to shoot it, and they get away with it? I'm surprised they didn't "disappear" or "die of natural causes."
