Thank you! I agree. Leave that crap else where.. we are all aware of the atrocities that occur to animals, they dont have to show us videos and stories of such.. theres no conspiracy about it, some people are sick.,

Isnt showing half of the animal cruelty stuff seen on here a violation of this?

15a) Offensive Content: You will not Post forum posts, private messages, PODcasts, blog entries, videos, images, and other supported content, links to images or use avatars and/or signatures that are unlawful, harassing, libelous, privacy invading, abusive, threatening, harmful, hateful, vulgar, obscene, and/or disruptive. You will not use text, images, avatars or link to images or domains that contain gore, mutilation, pornography or illegal content. Doing so will result in removal of your Post(s) and immediate termination of your account.

I mean, seeing videos or images of skinning a living animal is obscene, and definately disruptive. If it was linked, well, it would definately be violation of gore and mutilation.

just saying,.

do what you want though, sickos

Reptiles I have no pity for, they are ruthless, have no compassion, empathy

The OP while claiming to champion animal rights, actually only cares about our Western ideas of animal importance. Anything outside of fluffy mammals are considered worthless to her, if not outright evil.

Oh yes, how advanced we are, we care about a cute furry kitten because MTV told us so, but f/ck reptiles, they're evil, we don't care about them.

What are you talking about? I never said this, this is not me and it’s not my quote.
I would never ever hurt anything on purpose. I had a hard time dealing with the pain of an unfortunate incident with a gecko, it took my husband most of the night to calm me down.
I could never do this. And please don’t say that I would or could.

humans make these choices and have prooven to be nothing but greedy disgusting creatures.

no it is not ok for all these bad things happening to humans in the world, and one isn't any better than the other. animal cruelty is as bad as human cruelty. a life is a life, and humans just make life more miserable for any living organism on earth.

I know how you feel. Animal cruelty actually really upsets me more than anything else, but we can't ignore the stories about it. We need to bring them to everyones attention. I would suggest though that until you feel like yyou can handle reading and watching the related sources that you just don't click on these.

Also there should always be warnings to graphic and upsetting content and it should not be posted directly into ats only linked.

For me it depends whether a thread is promoting awareness and denying ignorance, or whether it is just gratuitous violence. We live in a society where the slaughter of animals is the norm, and not everyone views it as gore. I see dead animals hanging from hooks every time I go to the supermarket, and even small kids who live on farms are exposed to animal slaughter and butchery. It is not an age-restricted activity.

If a clip is from a well-made report that was on prime time TV, and it includes flashes of cruelty between informative interviews, then one cannot say it is just gore.
Furthermore one can warn viewers and reasonably describe the content of the material that borders on shocking.
If they still choose to click the link, then that was their choice.

Nowadays one can watch documentaries like "Taboo" and see Eastern customs of drinking snake blood, and all kinds of "unappetizing" traditions. It can be a borderline decision, but some people do care about animals and where their products come from. It would be a sad day when television documentaries (that can be seen by all ages) can no longer be included, and the plight of animals is censored.

So I'd say give the members a choice; include a warning and describe the content of the clip (and possibly a transcript so that they don't have to watch the footage to participate).
The fact is also that some people will always make a point of watching something and then complaining, probably because they are in denial about where their animal products come from.

If a mere thread title has you in tears then you're over-sensitive.
History in school, and learning about World War I or the holocaust must have been unbearable for such people.

However one thing that gets me is seeing surgical operations on TV - yuck.
And these programs are also not age-restricted.
It's OK to see people on the inside, but you can't see them naked from the outside!
I just close my eyes or change channels.
It's my choice as an adult.

Whateva - I couldn't agree with you more. Thank you for venting - as you also did so on my behalf.

The title of that thread turned me absolutely sick inside - the title was enough to make me avoid ATS for the rest of the weekend for fear of encountering that "set of words" again.

Seriously - we live in a retarded and sick world where sickos abound, and violence and the affliction of suffering is considered acceptable. I have been noticing a trend in my country - every day there is at least one headline of a murdered / abandoned-then-died baby or toddler. Friday's headline related to someone finding a dog running around with a ... yeah... well never mind... let's just say a mother sold some parts of her baby for muti (African witch-doctor medicinal ingredients) - the remains which the dog unearthed... and the mother probably received a couple of hundred bucks for doing this to her baby. Enough no doubt for food for less than a month.

When humans lose their empathy, they turn into monsters. And even though I was certain a short time ago that all humans are born with and have the capacity for empathy, some elements in our society are continuously eliminating every ounce of empathy from some individuals.

Sometimes I feel very strongly about the fact that there is only one recourse, and that is that all of humanity should be swept off the face of the earth. It is a thought that frightens me, but unfortunately it is the only thought that brings comfort to my weeping heart and boiling blood when I read stories (or headlines) such as these. Now that is scary.

I don’t think you’re alone on this thought. I’m pretty sure most of us at some point have wished for the same thing.
It’s heartbreaking to think of this, but with so much pain and suffering some humans cause, it’s easy to understand why.

But then there are people like you and i and many more good loving people around that bring me hope for humanity.

i dont click the threads, reading the the title is enough to upset me.

If you are this sensitive then I really don't know what you are doing on a site like ATS. A site which ostensibly presents the truth and you want it to be censored or tucked away so it doesn't hurt your delicate little feelings.

Grow up. It's a tough world and you can't expect other people to be mommy and daddy for you anymore.

I can sympathize with you. Fortunately , there is a plethora of information across this site and not all is to everyone's taste. Personally, I read only what I'm interested in knowing. Because I don't need the shock value of watching animals be abused, I don't go to those pages. For some folk, this kind of imagery is effective ... may cause more compassion. For those who find it amusing, so what. They don't count.

Stuff is getting real ugly out there. We need to toughen-up. Eyes wide shut can't change the world.

I'm a kind, loving gentle person. But If I found someone being cruel to a defenseless animal OR human - I would inflict more pain on that person they they were doing themselves to their victim.

Where does that leave me in society? I've always wondered that..

Exactly my problem...

Perhaps we were engineered to act as the guardians of the perfect world of old. You never know hey - this type of emotive response may just be hard-wired into our brains!
