I checked out their website: econ4.org

Strangely enough, these folks sound a lot like distributists. Maybe they should all get together and create an economy that values people first and money last.

One more thing; I liked this graphic they had on their site:

Unfortunately that slogan came right off the Communist Party website

I think that's a bit unfair, I would say most people protesting just want a fairer society one where corporate profits are not put before peoples welfare.

I support a lot of what the OWS movement are claiming to advocate for. For example, the ridiculous influence which financiers and other unelected ''leaders'' have on the political process and the consequent running of society.

However, OWS just comes across as a really bad joke. The ''leaderless'' movement has, ironically, shown just why a hierarchical structure is a necessity in any human society.

Most importantly, the average OWS supporter appears to have a nauseating entitlement mentality. Breaking down what the average OWS supporter says can be roughly translated as ''I want, I want, I want'' and ''Me, me, me''.

Not where banks and corporations can hold so much power over our elected officials. A leveling of the playing field more than a gimme gimme gimme.

I agree. But how many of us are more than willing to utilise the benefits of the banking system by putting our savings or spare cash in a high interest savings account at a high street bank?

Even the OWS movement has put some of their ''donations'' in an account at a major bank.

Yeah right, the OWS protesters are the ones taking your money. LOL

You just watched 7.77 TRILLION of your dollars get distributed to a handful of people in the 1%.

Guess in your mind that's nothing to worry about. Sorry to inform you, OWS feels differently.

Nowhere did I suggest that OWS took my money.

They're not ''my dollars''. I really don't care that much how Americans are getting shafted. It has no relevance to me.

So OWS ''feels'' something unanimously ?

Have you got a quote from ''OWS'' which will clarify your bizarre claim ?

Here's some food for thought...

I support a lot of what the OWS movement are claiming to advocate for. For example, the ridiculous influence which financiers and other unelected ''leaders'' have on the political process and the consequent running of society.

I don't think people generally understand the scope of things. When you say you support the protest against corrupting influence by corporations you do understand how intrinsic and deeply seethed this entity is that you are protesting against?

For example...

However, OWS just comes across as a really bad joke. The ''leaderless'' movement has, ironically, shown just why a hierarchical structure is a necessity in any human society.

Leaderless movements are a natural and evolutionary step forward. What you are seeing is the nature of evolution.

Ask yourself why leaderless revolutions are becoming the norm? It is because not one man or woman can define a movement. It is because a movement stems from an idea, a perfect idea. But no man or woman is perfect.

So those who oppose these revolutions discredit these imperfect leaders, bribe these imperfect leaders...to discredit the idea. Face it, part of our herd-type behavior is seriously detrimental to our progression as a species. A discredited leader = discredited movement to the larger audience. And when this happens it slows, or in extreme cases - halts, the progress of a movement. A movement that, by itself, would otherwise be regarded as a completely valid and necessary movement.

Do you see how deeply seethed this entity is that you claim to be protesting against? It is not only the bankers or politicians. It's the whole reality of suffering...pointless suffering...that is getting old.

Most importantly, the average OWS supporter appears to have a nauseating entitlement mentality. Breaking down what the average OWS supporter says can be roughly translated as ''I want, I want, I want'' and ''Me, me, me''.

Then how do you regard the 15 trillion heist they pulled the American people and subsequently, also people elsewhere, through financial or other means?

I agree. But how many of us are more than willing to utilise the benefits of the banking system by putting our savings or spare cash in a high interest savings account at a high street bank?

I'm still not sure if you're trying to understand or smear the "OWS" movement. Whichever it is, you need to try harder, no foul play intended.

so far in this thread you are the only one using generic terms to try to "label" occupy as socialists,
interesting thing is nobody buys it anymore

ridacule
violent repression
self acceptence

you seem to be at the riddicule stage

bailouts = socialism for the 1%
OWS = democracy and free markets for ALL

you are either watchin too much MSM or not reading the net

either way to support banker bailouts wont get any support here

You're lying.

Please provide me with one example where I referenced any kind of political ideology, let alone socialism.

Now, are you going to apologise to me for your blatant and provably false accusations, or are you just another one of ''them'', with no sense of standards whatsoever ?

Are you talking about ''evolution'' in a colloquial or biological sense ?

Either way, you are painfully naive.

Humans have an inbuilt tendency to form hierarchical social structures. You've just got to deal with that.

i aplogise, you said,

Generally, ''OWS economics'' equates to gimme, gimme, gimme. ''I have a right to take some of that money which you've worked hard for, because I deserve it''.

which "implyed" that this was about socialist wealth distrabution,

you did not use the term socialists and i apologise,

that said if you really hear give me give me give me,
IT SHOULD BE UNDERSTOOD,
they mean give me MY money back,
not GIVE me YOURS

if this is true why is OWS spreading?
if it is impossable for OWS to be leaderless and yet expand how do explain it being in 30 different countries?

the age of the internet makes a huge difference on how people evolve,
and political people are slow to evolve.

the internet allows everyone to be the leader, so does OWS
think about it like this,

OWS is the freedoms of the internet translated into the real world.

one voice one vote equal say for all.

evolve with us buddy

What ??!!

In no way could my comment remotely be construed as referring to the political ideology of socialism.
