Now Russia may not want war. America DOES NOT want war. Let's keep the nation and it's leadership separate though. It would appear Putin as the leader might not be entirely in sync with the people, if the people want peace. It just seems that way from the image Putin projects to the Western media, but what else are we to use as a gauge of his intentions at this point? He is making some pretty clear statements in that general direction.

By the way, in talking about this whole crisis situation I think it's important to note that I don't see Moscow, Washington or Beijing setting out with the intention or initially meaning to be Force on Force directly with each other. I think all 3 of the true World powers involved here see a short proxy fight here, or there or wherever. It's a whole series of BAD BAD miscalculations by all sides I fear we see developing here. If I'm not mistaken World War I started in similar roots of bad assumptions and miscalculations. It would be about 100 years since too. Go figure.

Our companies have moved there ending jobs here.
Most of what is on the shelf is China (or commi) made.
Though we gripe and complain, we buy it because its cheeper, convinient, or the only thing there (thanks Walmart) We have given all our money to China (communist party) and Uncle Sam.
We as citizens have financially supported both sides and most of us disagree with both sides.
Instead of doing things the old fashioned way via hard work and instead of listining to the older generation saying buy made in the U.S.A. We sought after every made in China gadget that would make our life easier. How ironic if there is a WWIII and the country we went into debt giving our money took away our easier way of life using our gadget money.

I dont know that I have EVER thrown in a religious point into my posts before, but just have to this once. One of the 10 commandments says dont covet your neighbors things. WOW, that God is one smart cookie. Who would have thought it didnt limit itself to your actual neighbor. Good 10 rules to live by.

The (in)human stupidity never ceases to amaze me. The Chinese are willing to destroy the entire world under a massive nuclear holocaust to protect Iran... It's not only an unspeakable demonstration of idiocy, but also an utter paradox.

It is about time someone steps up to the bullies and says enough is enough. US/NATO has been on a rampage for way too long.

I agree with you and i'll even add a little more. Put it this way, every country that has developed nuclear energy ended up making nuclear weapons. Does anyone have the slightest doubt they too would not make nuclear weapons? You would be a fool if you believed they wouldn't. Ofcourse theyre only wanting what everyother nuclear powered country already has. It is only a matter of time when WWIII busts loose and these countries start dropping nukes to protect their "way of life" and islam is a prime candidate for this as the Quran supports murdering people if it is to protect the muslim way of life. The Quran also supports using lies and subterfuge to defeat an enemy. Add the 2 clauses together and what do you get? Nuclear war.

Yes of course I've watched that part of it. NATO has been crowding the historical venue of the Russia Empire as it's stood in it's various incarnations throughout history.

As far as supporting Chechen rebels...I'm going to call THAT one a particularly vile and outright LIE. If you have proof of United States or NATO forces, or even combat advisers inside Chechnya and on the side of the rebels, I'd love to hear it. What I HAVE read over the years are little things like Bush giving Satellite coordination to putting a missile right down the phone signal track of a top Chechen rebel while he was making a call. That one made world news for a couple weeks, if you recall.

I also wrote short pieces myself at the time about how United States Law Enforcement as well as members of Delta and Seal 6 were seen on the RUSSIAN SIDE of the Chechen fight as observers and the like before relations with Russia when completely sideways. That happened both under Bill Clinton and George W.. So... Okay.. I'm wide open to seeing what you have to support your original conspiracy claim of U.S. or NATO backing the rebels AGAINST Moscow in a proxy fight through Chechnya.

Just keep in mind..... Chechnya was drawing fighters out of the same Afghani training camps Clinton was throwing missiles into every so often and later, Bush would obliterate entirely. Funny way for supposed friends to treat each other huh?


One other thing that MUST be considered before anyone starts rumbling about NATO provoking the Sovi...err..Russia into a fight or even pushing them toward bad relations. It may be too late now...but Russia has sat like a big hole in global geopolitics for the better part of 20 years now. They've been content on the international stage to protect what is theirs and largely focus internally....so big surprise when NATO fills the vacum Moscow left in the region as it turned inward for these past couple decades.

The big Bear is certainly awake now....but don't blame the locals for setting up camp outside the cave while it was hibernating and seemingly couldn't have cared less what happened outside.

I had to hit on that because this the most non-sequential statement I think I have ever seen. What way of life will the protect when everyone is dead?

I personally think some of you have watched to many "The Road" "Postman" "Book of Eli" Movies as you seem to think that you will be around to somehow make a life out of what is left.

Nuclear weapons are great for what they do and also a good reason for why people are always wanting them. They are the ultimate deterant. They have only been used once almost a century ago, and we don't use them because no one wants to use them. Everyone knows what nuclear weapons will do to the world, which is why they won't use them. They are nothing more then a Ace of Spades a way of saying oh yea you were saying?

Most of this war rhetoric that everyone is going on about is coming from the same sources over and over again, but yet no one has stopped to question the sources? So basically the guardian, haertz, RT (when did this become a actual reliable new source anyway), and the Jerusalem post are posting this crap on a daily basis. No one else seems to be quite as fascinated with it, but that is just me.

So a General at a university said, "China should protect Iran even if it means WW3" That is not exactly a threat that is an observation made by a General who is basically no different then the military analysts we see everyday on the MSM. Do you not think Fox News, CNN, MSNBC, and any other major news group doesn't hire there analysts to support the story they want to feed? I mean that is no different then when a Gallup runs a poll and asks the lower class if they are happy with the job the president is doing. If you want to make the Democratic president look good you make sure to poll mainly democrats. If you want him to look bad you go to a nice rich neighborhood and make sure you poll a lot of good Republicans. If you want to hear war rhetoric to build ratings etc you find yourself a good military analyst that will make sure your viewers keep coming back to make sure the world is about to blow.

I mean really come on use some common sense. 99.9% of the rhetoric you all are using as sources is as slanted as Fox News is when it comes to Democrats and CNN is when it comes to Republicans. Fear brings more watchers and ratings. nuff said.

Sorry but the world is not going to end in 2012 or sooner and we aren't on the brink of WW III sorry but Iran, Syria, Pakistan, North Korea, or insert name here country is not that important in the grand scheme of things. China might pay a bit more for oil, but I doubt they will lob nukes over Iran.
