It is..

Isn't this known?

If the earth wasn't alive, well we wouldn't be here folks.

Maybe not "alive" in the human sense.

But alive none the less.

This thread from yesterday shows an excellent documentary about the planet Earth and the damage we are causing, it also has some stunning visuals of our world.. (its called HOME)

If anyone is interested in our mother Earth, i urge you to take a little time and watch it..

cool thread op S n F..

I have always believed the Earth is alive, thats what makes it even worse the destruction we are causing. The day will come when she says 'enough is enough' and when that day comes... The human race is well and truely up s*** creek without a paddle..

I have also thought the Earth is a living "being", "creature", ect...I do think it is a real possibility.

There's also another "idea" Ive thought about, *which I think has been brought up here on ATS many times. What if the Earth was a electron, proton, neutron (along with all the other planets in our solar system)....and we are spinning around the nucleus (Sun).

I think about this almost daily. Good thread.

I believe that we are living in/on a living thing. We are like cells moving about the body.

What happens on a microscopic level also happens at a galactic level. We fail to see this. One day with high super powered 3d microscopes they will see colonies of species living on an atom.

If we look out further enough you will see that galaxies flow like particles in a river and if we look back even further you might see a organ being constructed.

from the micro to the macro, I often think maybe the universe is the body or being of God, galaxies being chakra's as such but hey I'm just a nut

If we are the collective 'Brain' of the planet then that would mean that The planet is suffering from a mental or emotional sickness, this would also explain the state of this world as the conflicting people are like conflicting emotions or shifting in the mental polarity. As opposed to: the rest of the planet thinking we are an infection and trying to get rid of us.

So it's US trying to get rid of US, ideas and emotions fighting for control in a single mind.

Good post, made me think

Wonderful post! I've thought often that each individual human is to the earth as synapses are to the brain. What the collection of synapses are to the brain, the collection of humans are to the earth. Which is why the healthy connections made are so important. I share and appreciate your view. Thanks for a great read. As above so below.

I S&F the post you linked because that documentary ties in perfectly with what I'm ultimately trying to illustrate! Thanks for posting that here!

If the Earth is a sentient being, then would someone mind asking Gaia if she could help us all out and herself, by opening a giant sinkhole beneath the Federal Reserve, US Congress, Palace of Westminster and the EU Paliament & HQ.

Love your post! Star and flag. Here's some more food for thought.

I came to the same conclusion when I heard about the "expanding earth theory" and saw Neal Adams' animations. To me, the logical conclusions after watching his animations is that the Earth must be alive. I e-mailed him and shared this theory with him, and he totally does NOT agree, by the way. He said it was not scientific, blah, blah, blah .

But hey...think about this. The ancient Greeks thought Earth was alive (Gaia) and they STARTED science! lol

Here are Neal Adam's animations of the expanding earth theory if you haven't seen them yet.

www.nealadams.com...

I once wrote a theory here on ATS (can'at remember when...a few years ago, I think) that the earth is triggered to grow when the Earth reaches certain spots in the galaxy. Just as Earth has seasons based on her position around the sun, and plants and animals are triggered to grow and reproduce, I think that the position of Earth in the galaxy triggers a "growth" spurt - I think there are certain times when our entire solar system goes through spring, summer, winter, fall...and perhaps when we have our solar spring....that's when something triggeres our Earth (and the rest of the planets) to have growth spurts.

After all, if you watch Neal Adam's animations, he shows that other planets grow as well....and so does the moon.

Edit to add:
If you think about how the universe expands and contracts, that has always made me think that the Universe is also a living entity, and it's expansions and contractions are like it's breath.

And if you take that one step further, and think of our planets, suns, galaxies and universe's all being parts of God...the universe expanding and contracting could be the breath of God. Who knows, really!

great thread i was so happy to read this. as the pessimist that i am, i can only question what exactly will the earth do in the future to truly get rid of the infection? more earthquakes? more rain/flooding? who knows but we need to stop using oil thats the most obvious solution.

Protons and neutrons are the nucleus, with electrons doing the orbiting.

But I get what you are saying. I've also thought of this but never in a very serious way.

I don't think the Earth is alive in the sense that it is a sentient being, but maybe all life is connected somehow.

This is no new concept. We eradicated all previous civilizations on an entire continent that held the belief the Earth was a living system, meaning those who believed this notion were weak and it wasn't their destiny to pass on their genes (natural selection). We're the dominate forms of life and of human civilization. If this planet were actually "sentient" as the OP claims then it would have prevented this. Earth submits to US because it has NO sentience. We may abuse and use it however we deem necessary. Also, statistical analysis of global warming can find no cause and effect between humans and climate (excluding those that were falsified pre-2008). It's just a bunch of nonsense, a scheme propagated by Al Gore and the likes which was uncovered in 2008/9
www.washingtontimes.com...
omsriram.com...
The ice age (and subsequent global warming that melted it) and many other massive climactic changes occurred without human involvement. There's natural, astronomical cycles that happen. END OF STORY.

And to the guy mentioning Gaia, you should probably learn that Gaia mothered a giant cyclops and a host of other ridiculous monsters. Yes, that makes sense. I'll take some Koolaid on the way out.

So far I see no actual evidence. Just a bunch of analogies and references to mythological fairy tales.

PS playing the Devil's advocate cuz this thread is just a bunch of agreeing.

excelent post!!!

If you see the picture inwards. We have living creatures in our body! Bacteria, antibodies, enzymes! I believe they are creatures because all particles in our body have a function as they were created already with this information and conciousness to do this specific jobs.. if one of them would stop, our bodies will immediately die! Have you seen the documentary going around ATS? Thrive!

All is infinitive and it seems that it keeps going in all directions.. maybe atoms also have living creatures but they are too small for us to detect or see, well its a faar out theory

So it good me thinking that we are the living creatures of the earth which obviously have a function to keep the Earth going but hey.. we also were created with reason and obviously some of us, arent doing a good job! but at the same time all in creation works with order and chaos, positive and negative.. so some of us are the cancer cells on Earth but some of us are the good cells that combat the cancer! Just like a body! and the body is the Earth!!

XD

Well then... the Earth must be having a GI infection (GI= gastro-intestinal)... which symbolically refers to the Earth's Core going bonkers lately (by that i mean slowly building up in the last couple decades)

outward signs of the Earth's inner-outer Core unhealthyness:

the South Atlantic magnetic anomaly

the wandering and unsteady magnetic pole intensity

the whole mid-Atlantic ridge undergoing volcanic lava flows,
Particularly the renewed 'Hot Spots' around Iceland and the Canary island areas off the coast of Spain

the whole planet having volcanic activity lately...in former 'dormant' areas/volcano's which were asleep for hundreds and/or thousands/millions of years

i propose that the Earth inner-outer cores are in stress, creating Magma currents which bring hotter magma to various 'hot spots' in the upper Mantle that is nearest to the Crust layer of the planet,

the Mantle convection currents, the hotter lower mantle layer, the rapit increase of renewed 'hot spot' mantle plumes is creating another event that might rival the P-T boundary era...when the Siberian Traps Volcano's spewed gasses and ash into the global atmosphere which darken the land and helped create conditions
for the P-T boundary extinction event in which 90% of species were annihilated

the Siberian Traps volcanism also added some 2 million square miles of new land mass from the lava flows

i suspect that this "2012" era is all about the destructive nature of the Earth's inner-Sun... its inner-outer core and the distress it will cause in the magnetic pole flip, the new land, the darkened skies, the toxic gasses released in the atmosphere...etc etc...
{in some traditions this era is called 'the beginning of sorrows'}

Nature...indeed, the planet Earth has a Gut Problem
and its not a 24-48 hour bug

I cant believe it,someone who thinks like me! i wrote tons of material on this subject about 5 years ago, even comparing, asteroids, comets "and" aliens, too bees and insects, pollinating the worlds of the cosmos,i believe the whole universe is in fact one large body, and that its still only the equivalent of a single cell when compared too the multiverse,it does not matter how small or large you go,everything has similaritys, from the tiny cells too the largest things we know of,earth, the universe, the multiverse,i believe that it would be fairly easy too prove that most life in the universe is pollination from other planets, the existence of foreign bodies interacting with earth like invading cells is proof enough for me,i actually debated this with a pastor from my church till he got angry with me as he could not answer most of my questions, besides, nowhere in the bible does it say god "did not" create more than us,the animals are proof enough too of that, theoretically, all that is could be the body of god,we are "part of him" the "body of christ",wine and unlevened bread! however, its only theory, but very interesting at that eh?
