Study Says Gingrich Amnesty Bigger Than '86 Blanket Amnesty

it is difficult to believe that those supporting him agree with his amnesty plan or are even aware that his proposal sounds like it would give U.S. jobs and residency to around 3.5 million illegal aliens (according to a new Pew Hispanic Center study).

Unless Gingrich supporters push him to back off, he is promising a bigger amnesty than the giant blanket amnesty of 1986 that was supposed to be the first and last one ever. Hopefully, his supporters can talk him into cutting out at least 90% of his amnesty.

Former House Speaker Gingrich agrees wtih Presidents Bush and Obama that the only major options for illegal aliens are deporting them or legalizing them (choices that nearly all mainstream media also insist on).

His official immigration platform gives no hint of recognizing that there is a third option -- Attrition Through Enforcement -- that eliminates the jobs and benefits magnets for illegal aliens so that they will self-deport back to their home countries. Thus, Gingrich is at odds with most of the other GOP candidates and most GOP Members of Congress who favor the Attrition option.

Support the attrition option. There is no reason why employers of illegal aliens can't identified and heavily fined for their crimes, and the jobs eliminated.

I go one farther, all the big corporations hire illegal Hispanics almost exclusively for janitorial and landscaping, which is not only discrimination, but a crime as well, and they are quite aware they are doing it. They do this through contracting firms, but if these illegals are found on corporate property, then the corporations should be the ones fined, as that is where they are being employed. Then the corporations can go after the contractors to recover supposed violations of contracts.

It is funny that attrition option is never discussed by the media.

If the fed gov can track down tax cheats, then certainly they can track down employers who hire illegals. Mexico does this quite effectively. The only reason it isn't done is because both parties secretly support illegal immigration, even if this is for very different reasons.

The bigger problem is that illegal immigration does push down wages and workers rights. However what is worse is that it locks the youth of the U.S. out if entry level job positions which are taken by illegals. These businesses that hire illegals clearly discriminate against U.S. born workers, and exclusively hire illegal immigrants, and that is not only wrong from a discrimination point of view, it also locks our youth out of the future of our country.

In addition, the way many of these illegals are worked borders on slavery.

The democratic party claims to be against discrimination, but by supporting amnesty, they are encouraging discrimination, and slavery.

The republicans say they are against illegal immigration on one side of their mouth, but are even more invested in supporting it on the other, especially those like Gingrich who preach free market economics.

Shutting down the ability of people to hire and abuse illegal immigrants would jump start our economy, pushing up wages on the bottom end, which will increase demand, and stimulate our economy.

That wonderful third option again?
Make American twice as #ty as Mexico and they will stop coming over here.
Great idea.

What are you talking about? Don't know where you get your info, but you need to find better sources.

Back in the fifties, sixties and seventies, when they were enforcing laws against illegal immigration, our wages were much stronger, and so was our economy.

Massive influxes of illegal workers has lowered our wages and made us more like Mexico, where workers have no rights.

How is it that you could believe the opposite?
