I'm a newb to Seti@home.

Can anyone give me some explanation on this unit thing?

Also i saw on the seti site that some one had their machine running for 800 years! That isn't possible.

well if you network with say 4 computers that quadruples your results. a unit is one package of info that it analyzes.

that computer belonged to a dog, so you have to devide those years by seven!
