I have noticed a startling and also very interesting modern phenomena in our western society.
I will start by asking that posters not make poorly thought out comments and try to approach any opinion given by themselves or others from an open-minded and non-racially influenced ideology or angle.
ie: Please don't be racist, just hear me out and tell me if you've noticed the same thing.

To anyone thinking that i am infact being in any way inflammitory I would direct you to the particulary careful wording of my post and i also state right now and from the begining that i assess each person on their own individual merits and/or lack thereof, or in other words I strive to not be racist as being racist just makes me a bad person.

This post is in response to a few threads that have involved the topic of racisim and also address a recent accusation upon myself of an act or stated opinion containing what was labelled as "Subtle Racisim"
I was and still am quite offended by this. And in the event that a Moderator choose's to pull this thread thinking that i am trying to be smug or attacking anyone, then by all means please do so, but please read the whole thing first as i feel i deserve a chance to be heard, like in a courtroom.

Racisim exist's in abundance. It is usually white anglo saxon people who are determined as the main offfenders.

This is simply not true. Racisim is unfortunatly and rather ironically a game that is open to anyone regardless of their race, sex, political affiliation or religious beliefs (although it is sometimes not always this way as i will explain). I use the word racisim but the issues i talk of apply to all forms of discrimination.

Comedians are a great example of this. As i am clearly avoiding being specific with my viewpoint i will refrain from naming any individual. Simply watch a broad cross section of comedians and get yourself a pen and notepad and set out a grid with the various racial and religious (don't forget sexual orientation) groups marked out and then, as you watch each comedian, put a tick in the box every time they make a joke about a race or religion (or sexual orientation) that differs from the comedians own.

When you are finished, tally up the scores and see which particular group makes the most racially oriented jokes.
The answer might just surprise you.
This will give you a good indication of how prevalent racisim is in our global society

It also will give you an understanding of how certain groups of people are seemingly 'allowed' to be racist while others are not.

If your people have been enslaved or oppressed in the last 100 or so years then you may find that the rules regarding the application of the label 'racist' seem to differ to the rules that dictate the application of this label to other groups. However this rule is not always the same in every part of the world.
Take my own country as an example. Australia. It was Colonized by the Brittish a few hundred years ago and the Brittish called it 'Terra Nullius' meaning basically 'Empty Land' which implied that there were no Humans living there.
The Humans that were living there are still quite upset about this. Most of the First settlers were a combination of English, Irish and Scottish 'Convicts' who were enslaved and forced to go to this new land.
They found themselves in an interesting position upon arriving as the Non convict anglo-saxons considered them to be inferior to themselves and the 'Convicts' considered the original inhabitants to be inferior to them.
Fast forward 200 or so years and there is a situation where the decendants of the 'Convicts' are regulary called racist if they have a negative viewpoint of the descendants of the original inhabitants (which is a fair call IMHO), and quite often they are considered Racist even if they do not have a negative opinion (which is obviously not very fair at all), this appears to be based purely on the colour of their skin.
Interestingly enough, the original inhabitants never get accused of being racist despite their viewpoints on anyone.
I have no problem with my fellow Australians regardless of their racial background.

It truly is an interesting phenomena. One which has caused myself no end of anxiety and temper tantrums, let me tell you.

In closing I feel that the term 'Racist' (and other names for various forms of discrimination) is often used (ironically enough) in a very racist (insert appropriate name here#) way, with people who are not actually racist(#), being called racist (#) because of the colour of their skin (political affiliation, sexual orientation e.t.c).

Isn't that just the darndest thing.
Thankyou for reading.

The first thing I noticed about your post was that, before you had even put forth your views, you felt it necessary to apologise to any sensitive minorities that may take offence at what you said. That alone speaks volumes.

I think this, in a nutshell, sums up where white 'anglo folks vs all other races' is at right now thanks to the unnecessarily politcally correct BS shoved down our throats daily in the media and by western governments worldwide that are scared out of their wits of being labelled 'rascist', which, in my humble opinion, is one of the most over-used, over abused terms ever coined.

There are people in EVERY race on earth that look down on other races, for whatever reason. Whites DO NOT have the market cornered on that, despite what media and minority race agenda pushers would have everyone believe. Unfortunately, the end result is that most average white people (like me) have become fed up with the inequality thrust upon them because of so many allowances made for races other than anglo - whether it's for education, benefits, jobs etc. But if WE ask for a fair go against a minority race or religion look out, we are evil, hood wearing, cross burning racists.

'Affirmative Action' was the worst policy ever inflicted by western governments, because it basically turned the playing field so on it's head that any attempt to right it has since been deemed 'racist' because it meant winding back the generous handouts made to minorities, which of course they don't want to see happening.

I have no doubt some bleeding hearts on here will fall back on that old 'racist' war cry. That's fine with me. It just highlights their lack of accepting the cold hard facts more than my dislike of any particular race or religion.

Cheers also from Down Under

You must be reffering to 'Abstudy' among other things, funny how 'Ozstudy' and 'Abstudy' have different pay rates despite being the exact same thing, only one is for our 'indiginous brothers' and the other is for the rest of us.
Abstudy is about 20% more money. why is this?

Also many jobs advertised have clearly stated on them, 'only aboriginal or torres straight islanders may apply' which only hurts both parties involved as it segregates us.

It's a crazy world we live in allright.

Racial Equality is a plank of socialism. Though I do not consider myself to be a racist, I still reserve the right to make my own opinions wether they are generalizations or not.

In the end though, it's the ones who play the race card who are the worst offenders. In the end it will be the one who cries wolf that becomes the wolf in sheep's clothing.

I think people get off by pretending to be "not racist". Personally i don't care about racism at all, it just does not bother me. I think people of low IQ are easily offended because they feel so threatened by words. Like a dog that will sit when told to a person will get angry at the use of racial slurs.
I mean honestly i think racist jokes are funny, you show me someone who has not told or laughed at a racist joke and i will show you a liar or a deaf/mute.

I think they just use it to get away with stuff.

Have you ever seen someone play the race card and then not try to pull a fast one?

It's the same thing human rights advocates do before they rape someone.

I just don't like to be accused of things based on some one else's opinion or perogertive.

I genuinely do judge each person as they come along.

But yeah, i laugh at so called 'Racist' jokes, hell yeah i do, all of them, even ones directed at me, like the popular "white guys drive like this, black guys drive like this" made famous by the simpsons.

I don't get a high by claiming to be not racist, i never mention it.

The only reason i wrote this thread is because i got muzzled and censored on ATS for trying to express a view that was political concerning Israel and told that i was being 'Subtly Racist' and i wasn't being this.

It felt like it was used as an excuse to stop me bad mouthing the Israely government. Not cool.

hmm well I am living and working in Pt Augusta at the moment and it is like the wild west out here.

I went to Wilcannia and some of the 'locals' would not talk to me because I was white and I was warned by other people who 'were in the same position as myself' TO GET OFF THE STREET...well stuff that. I slept in my car that night (there is no accom there and it is in the middle of bloody nowhere so you have to wait until the morning to get supplies) The main st is caged up and it is pretty scary. But I slept in my car out the front of the petrol station. And I even took my dog out for a walk and yanno, they have spotters that check out things and i saw them... and they were unsettled cos a) I was white and b) was female and c) had my dog and d) was not frightened. They were wary of me.

FACT.

The fact is in some areas, you are not welcome if your not 'one of them'.. but that is not the case all the time.

I recently moved house because the other one I lived in was a 'DESIGNATED WALKING TRACK' even though it was private property...and if they wanted to light a fire and have a shin dig in my back yard... bad luck.

racism exists in all cultures..
