The attacks against American Constitutional right's is being obliterated daily...I think the bill on indefinite detention is an ongoing battle being waged against American sovereignty and freedom which may lead to censorship and gun control.

Possibly opening up the advancement of a North American Union..

A gun company advertisement that warns of impending gun control compares President Obama to Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin.

The USAAmmo ad shows side-by-side pictures of Obama with Hitler, Stalin and other dictators who committed atrocities across the world. The ad, which is also accompanied by a video, warns that gun control is imminent and foreshadows that the U.S. could face millions in casualties if they are not allowed to defend themselves.

Stop falling for the propaganda...
This "Obama has a secret plan to take away our guns, and install socialism" is getting out of hand, and it only makes conservatives look like paranoid lunatics.

Well...lets be honest, Obama is Crypto Kenyan Socialist. Could you really picture him at a Red Sox game, or Bilsl game really getting into it? You could, however, picture him at some sort of Euro trash rally singing songs against the Seal Hunt in Canada. When all you have ever done is be a community organizer in corrupt Chicago, banning guns and bashing "flyover country" comes with the "Hawaiian, kinda Muslim but not, sort of American but not, persona." He makes John Kerry seem palatable.

I'm sure if it had been Bush president, it would have done the same ad.

I know I've seen ads like that during Bush... Thing is, governments are always against freedom, especially freedoms that can end their tyranny.

John McLame isn't a republican, he's an Idiot-Nevada.

Failure to avoid a SAM and then subsequently being taken prisoner doesn't qualify you to do %^&#. Yeah, he toughed it out and survived torture. Not sure how that translates into him being in any way qualified to do anything other than teach a class on how to survive torture.

Propaganda comes in many forms.

Even on forums with people telling others to not fall for propaganda.

All evidence points towards the glorious Obama attempting to enslave America. And before him, Bush. And before him...

If you don't believe it, I have just one question: "Are you as free to do, think and speak as you were last Week, Month, Year?"

You can't possibly answer yes.

Peace

except for the part where he's done nothing but promote a socialist agenda and sought, via his little mexico gunrunner debacle, to blame the proliferation of US arms to mexico on americans? Right?

How can anyone blame gun control on socialism? Those commie socialists need their guns for when they rebel and overthrow the government (kidding). Socialists dont want to give up the guns of the workers. You are all thinking of liberals.

Text t should be said that as socialists we are opposed to a situation where only the capitalist state has guns. We are not in favor of disarming working people. However, the issues of what types of guns should be available, what type of safety measures and gun education should be implemented are issues that should be rationally and democratically decided by the people.

Thats off some socialist website. Gun control is not some key thing associated with socialism. How the heck is this about socialism? I wish people would stop calling Obama a socialist because it would be offending alot of socialists. Obama is not a socialist. What he is is part of the capitalist duoploy. He is a crony capitalist and a puppet.

Again:

"Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty." -- Wendell Phillips, (1811-1884)

Every time someone authors a thread warning about the possibility of gun control, someone else comes along and grouses: "OH, quit being paranoid--yada-yada-yada...."

In the face of constant efforts at gun control there IS no such thing as paranoia. Eternal vigilance means ETERNAL vigilance. If you're not worried about it, then don't worry about. But don't tell ME not to worry about it....

Glenn Beck did and does the same exact thing.

No one with an IQ over 90 takes him seriously either though.

Maybe I didn't watch it closely enough, but I didn't see any comparisons to Obama. I just saw historical accounts of what happens when gun control goes into effect. It was a great video though, it really shows how when they come for your guns, it's almost always going to be bad news.

IQ is not relative to who one decides to take seriously, rather IQ is somewhat relative to understanding what things are important to life, liberty, and happiness, and then knowing how to deal with the issues to achieve/maintain the things of importance.

The first way deal with the important things now, is to know which direction to vote a year from now. This country will not survive another four years (maybe not even two) with the person this country currently has in the highest office of the land. The English language is so limited, there is no way to adequately describe just how bad a leader he has been for us. Of course, many of us knew that 4 or 5 years ago, and we just could not over come that "PIED PIPER'S song of change. And that is what we now have - CHANGE!

Well, real CHANGE we have seen, is similar to the change made to food, the next time we see it, after having eaten it!

Is everybody happy now, with the CHANGE!?? "No guns" is just one of the next steps of CHANGE we should expect.

(FWIW - IQ, 3 digits)

Of course no one is happy with the change. There wasn't any. Most of the republican policies and tax breaks are still in place. Hell, he even added a war! All the while the economy still struggles. You'd think we should be booming right now with all the tax breaks the job creators are getting.

4 years of a Democrat in the White House and we have not 1 Democratic policy in place.
That's the problem.

No where close to the facts of this administration. What do you think all of the new "Czars" have been doing - new big government regulations into nearly aspect of our lives, with energy, school, food, farms, banking, credit cards, guns to Mexico, 1/2 billion $ to Solyendra, etc, etc, etc, with all directed towards using OPM (other people's money) to get more votes, and to pay off the big contributors.

It is what it is!

This "Obama has a secret plan to take away our guns, and install socialism" is getting out of hand, and it only makes conservatives look like paranoid lunatics.

Obama's State Department blocked the reimportation of thousands of WWII surplus rifles from South Korea. The rifles are perfectly legal to own in the US already, tens of thousands of them are in private hands. The reason given was "they might fall in to the wrong hands and be used for nefarious purposes." Nope that doesn't sound like an attempt at limitting the right of Americans to own legal guns.

Obama's ATF has imposed a new ban on shotguns being imported for comercial sale if they have an adjustable stock or pistol grip on their stock. This is an attempt by the ATF to reinstate the pointless AWB from the Clinton years. They use the "sporting use" test. First of all domestic production guns of the same design are sold every day and used in hunting as well as competition. Second, the SCOTUS ruled that the 2nd ammendment was about defense and not sporting use. So, to continue using a "sporting use" benchmark for the determination violates the spirit of the SCOTUS rulings in recent years.

The Brady Campaign has said that Obama has promised to work on gun control "under the radar." Shortly there after he signed an executive order allowing the ATF to force gun dealers in border states to report anyone that bought multiple semi-automatic rifles. It is an attempt to force gun registration without attempting to pass it through congress.

Let us see what Ontheissues.com has to say about Barack Obama's record concerning gun control.

Obama was being misleading when he denied that his handwriting had been on a document endorsing a state ban on the sale and possession of handguns in Illinois. Obama responded, “No, my writing wasn’t on that particular questionnaire. As I said, I have never favored an all-out ban on handguns.”
Actually, Obama’s writing was on the 1996 document, which was filed when Obama was running for the Illinois state Senate. A Chicago nonprofit, Independent Voters of Illinois, had this question, and Obama took hard line:

35. Do you support state legislation to:
a. ban the manufacture, sale and possession of handguns? Yes.
b. ban assault weapons? Yes.
c. mandatory waiting periods and background checks? Yes.

Obama’s campaign said, “Sen. Obama didn’t fill out these state Senate questionnaires--a staffer did--and there are several answers that didn’t reflect his views then or now. He may have jotted some notes on the front page of the questionnaire, but some answers didn’t reflect his views.”

Sure, he made a few notes, but he didn't actually fill out the questionare or read it over.

2000: cosponsored bill to limit purchases to 1 gun per month

I believe in keeping guns out of our inner cities, and that our leaders must say so in the face of the gun manfuacturer’s lobby.

Ban semi-automatics, and more possession restrictions

Principles that Obama supports on gun issues:
Ban the sale or transfer of all forms of semi-automatic weapons.
Increase state restrictions on the purchase and possession of firearms.
Require manufacturers to provide child-safety locks with firearms.
Source: 1998 IL State Legislative National Political Awareness Test Jul 2, 1998

Obama voted for a bill in the Illinois senate that allowed retired law enforcement officers to carry concealed weapons. If there was any issue on which Obama rarely deviated, it was gun control. He was the most strident candidate when it came to enforcin and expanding gun control laws. So this vote jumped out as inconsistent.
When I queried him about the vote, he said, “I didn’t find that [vote] surprising. I am consistently on record and will continue to be on record as opposing concealed carry. This was a narrow exception in an exceptional circumstance where a retired police officer might find himself vulnerable as a consequence of the work he has previously done--and had been trained extensively in the proper use of firearms.“

It wasn’t until a few weeks later that another theory came forward about the uncharacteristic vote. Obama was battling with his GOP opponent to win the endorsement of the Fraternal Order of Police.

Source: From Promise to Power, by David Mendell, p.250-251 Aug 14, 2007

So if you are a cop it is okay to carry concealed, if that stance gets him a political recomendation from a powerful union.

Is it paranoia when the man's own words and record show that he has a blatant disregard for gun ownership and gun owners?
