Followign the brutal attack on school children, Russia has declared Sept 6-7 to be a national day of mourning. I for one am still speechless about this act of barbarism. A charity for the victems and thier families has been set up:

September 6-7, 2004 have been declared Days of National Mourning in the Russian Federation following the despicable act of terrorism in the Russian town of Beslan that has caused numerous human losses, including among children.

The Book of Condolences will be opened at the Embassy of the Russian Federation at 2650 Wisconsin Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 20007 on Monday, September 6 from 2 pm to 5 pm and on Tuesday, September 7 from 10 am to 1 pm and from 2 pm to 5 pm.
