It does sound a wee bit sensationalized.

But can Iranian troops actually enter a foreign embassy?

It could be construed as an invasion of soverign ground?

Well, American troops entered the Iranian Embassy in Iraq, detained some of the staff for up to 2 1/2 years.

Even the British SAS would fail any mission in to Iran to release the hostages; get real!

This is pretty crazy indeed.... was watching a report earlier on the news where they were showing some Iranian news footage and the reporter was saying this happened because of Britain's sanctions and so on... he was almost saying "You deserve it".... now whether the UK or other nations are right or wrong to sanction Iran... it's against international law to "invade" an embassy and while the police were actually overrun.... they were also not really trying to pull protesters from the gates or really stop them climbing into the embassy.

This is much more serious than it seems to be I think.... I hope I'm wrong.

With some resistance? You mean with alot of resistance.....and they won't get a free pass out. Don't forget, some of the more specialised Iranian units within the military are incredibly well trained and would be a match for SAS. You're not dealing with Arabs, but highly intelligent Persians - a completely different race to the Arabs.

Anyhow, all is good, staff released. Story over.

The SAS have no comparison in terms of experience and training...
If the UK wanted to they could and would take the hostages back and it would shatter diplomatic relations with iran but it would send a clear message if you take our citizens hostage we will come after you... Funny how if this was the iranian embassy in Britain there would have been more police called in... Iran made a mock attempt to stop them but that was a small force intended to be overran...

This no longer applies to the hostage situation

Johnny you are truly funny, trying to bash Zero Hedge. Seeing as though you wouldn't know what a bloomberg terminal was if it smacked you upside the head, and you have zero assetts with which to invest anyway. Go back to your Hasbara Trolling.

UK warns Iran..they should have also warned them when politicians were chanting Death to Britain in Parliament, can you imagine shouting that is the house of commons, your career would be over.

To me, that is absolute proof that these people, from the top to the bottom are mental Western haters who need taking out, from the student raiding our embassy to the politicians.

Just wish we had some way of hitting them..oh wait we dont, the government has essentially reduced our armed forces until they are unable to do much. They leave our 'embassaders' at the mercy of a hostile government then throw around warnings.

Grow up UK, dont make a warning you cant back up, its empty and hollow and you have made us this weak nation who was once so strong. Ohh Barrack, remember our special relationship, cant you punish Iran for us please?

How many assets of theirs have we frozen? Enought to rent a US carrier, battle group, few dozen battalions of Marines and US Army? Pffft.

and i still am puzzled......

why would the all for Iran boy Ahmadabad himself and all self proclaimed predecessors .....

allow those frozen assets to even be placed in harms way in the first place

it makes ya think he did it for the good of the Crown or something.

at least Chavez in Venezuela is shipping gold back home !!

The Iranians kidnapped and imprisoned nearly 100 Americans and held them hostage for a year. President Carter sent a rescue mission and the plane crashed and we split Iran without them.

Does anyone study history? This is not the 1st , nor last....and it wont start any war. It didnt with us...and we finally got our US hostages back.

Like any of this is new...

ok, seriously, i'm just a reader for months now, i feel akwardly embarassed that the people in this blog is dis crediting/crediting people in this forum or any forum for that matter for not having "reliable source of the news" seriously "reliable?????? i mean let me spell the anacronysm of the website A.T.S and you are looking for CNN/BBC/ AP and you name it as a source of reliable information, it is a travesty my friends, seriously. very upsetting that the purpose of the forum gets belittled by this type of things, though yes there are certain users who like to be part of the panic mongers, yes is true but still what are you looking for??? CNN to back up news? or Yahoo! news, c'mon now.

This is what is called blowback; everyone is desperate for jobs right now and we put sanctions on a country? OWS is protesting right now the lack of availability of good jobs and we the USA go putting on economic sanctions on other countries! The hypocrisy is astounding.

Economic sanctions are a declaration of war; what did Britain expect that they would be greeted with flowers for them trying to ruin their country? They have enough problems as it is and now they are messing with their economy.

Before you go all war parading or baiting for war, look at this.

www.nytimes.com...

See that?

That's Iranian police cracking down on it.

WHOA LOOK AT THAT. A nation with multiple points of view and trying to organize some sense of decency, even in the face of suicidal radical leadership.

What do ya know. They're human. God help us all.
