Flood Defences!

If you are in a flood zone then there's a few things you can do.

Hard standing with sandbag barriers are great, but better still are concrete walls with steps to really make a permanent barrier.

I've just seen many good examples of effective flood defences while visiting Asia.
Houses on 'stilts' or support piles are one way.
Another way is channel or a raised platform foundation...

I made a video of the ways a capital city that's been in the news recently met the flooding threat. Now it was far from perfect and did anger those on the fringes of the city for greatly diverting the waters to their neighbourhood, yet it did mean the capital city itself was saved...
