This whole Syrian opposition is being staged in my opinion by the Western forces in order to overthrow the al-Assad Baathist regime since it refuses to comply with the dictates coming from Washington.

Yes you are entitled to your opinion as am I and I call utter garbage (possibly even a straight out propaganda lie) on this statement. Do you have proof of this "being staged in my opinion by the Western forces" or are you just shooting your mouth off? ? Names, dates, places documentation would be good to at least give your argument any legitimacy!

I would not even be surprised if the snipers littering Syria that have this faces covered are actually foreign snipers sent in to create a quagmire for the al-Assad regime.

Suspicions? Again proof! otherwise just an "out there" conspiracy theorist opinion! Real facts would be good! If you can bahahahahaha!

I would have to agree. This is just fantasy. Any time someone starts making claims of having insider information or claim to be in direct contact with NATO leaders - the BS-meter starts to rise.

Russia and Syria have always been close in their military relationship. Syria has a multi-billion dollar contract in place with Russia for arms, including Mig 29/33s and a highly advanced missile air defense system (called the Pantsir or as NATO calls it, the SA-22.

The "Threaten U.S. Navy Carrier" headline is just hokum. The Navy never sends in a carrier to the frontlines of an engagement. It sits waaaaay in the back, behind the carrier task force, behind all those picket ship with phased-array radars and phalanx missile shields, beyond the horizon where enemy radars can't see it - so they can't detect planes being launched.

This spells trouble, with the control Russia need to maintain over their naval port and in further negotiations regarding pipeline talks. with an armed Syria the threat is very real to both Israel and Turkey. Russian interests are entirely to protect an asset, a premeditated strike from any parties could have extreme consequences. as could a preemptive one.
in terms of 'line crossing' other countries involvement, UN sanctions and the like quashing and reducing any likely hood of the current arms situation escalating further is what needs to be focused on. not the 'rights' and 'wrongs'. the sky's should not be lite up with missiles by any means. any foul moves from israel at this stage could be disasterous.

I have a hard time believing the rebels would have any info on what's going on in the regime. I personally think if you were talking to the "rebels" you are talking to war criminals.

And I second the above posters claim that this shoulf be moved to hoax bin.
