whats the point of having extra airport and aircraft security?

more and more evidence are being discovered that points to the government being behind the attacks of 9/11. there were no terrorists on board those planes. there have been reports that the government have the technology take control of a plane from the ground. so my question is... wats point of having extra security if the government can freely gain access to the planes in the air and do whatever they want with them?
