Ar:My problem with Occupy is they only complain, and I can do that on my own. I sympathies with the anger against derivative traders and those who profited off of betting against their own bad investments but occupy protestors dont ask for anything...not even a pitch fork and torch carrying mob to chase down the relatively small number of scum bags who got rich commuting a quasi legal fraud.

Give me a demand to consider, I'm busy watching Egyptians demand an end to military rule, that's called a demand, occupy needs one too if they're to get any support from me. How about US electoral reform?

starrydays17 Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and if you want people to respect your opinion, then you need to start respecting other people's opinion. People do not "need" to visit one of these "camps" and speak with participants to have an opinion on the so-called movement. My opinion is that camping out in public spaces is wrong. You either need to permit ANYONE and EVERYONE to do so, or permit NO ONE to do so. And my opinion is that this is a bunch of people complaining, but not actively doing anything about it. Complaining doesn't solve anything.

So what starrydays17 is trying to say that Protesting doesn't solve anything really now? notice then how he is urging people to avoid the camps and urging them to avoid talking with them on the issues.

Really now its wrong to protest and to camp out in public spaces to protest?, i wonder if then that could also go the same for the egyptian protesters? at the Cairo's Tahrir Square? isnt that a public square?

Where is the law that says camping out to protest is wrong i would like to see that law if it exists.

I do feel badly for many of these occupiers. It's clear that many of them are mentally ill, and need some sort of professional therapy. Toronto is a compassionate city, with many great mental health care facilities and practitioners, so there is hope for many, if they wish. It is high time to respect what the majority of Torontonians wish, though, and clear out of the park.

i really wish a huge recession does happen now because some people will never understand nor get the message unless there fat TV Box tells them otherwise.

its a good goal and noble cause behind the occupy movement, but it seems to be lots of squeegie kids hanging out at the park drumming and so on. Not clear what skin they have in the game which I thought was to make the world fairer for the overtaxed and overworked people. Thanks, but please don't talk to the press esp if you starting sounding all flakey. But if you have to here's something to talk about - from a recent CIBC Economics release. Over the last 5 years corporateprofits have risen from 61% to 67% while individual incomes have decreased by the exact same amount. Its globalization, and it hurts. Time to get a company and help put your neighbours out a job by offshoring your labour to somewhere cheaper. And what do you do? Its the world becoming fairer. How to participate? Buy stocks.

Oh goodie buy stocks will slove everything right? not i guess people will always believe the banks then the reality on the ground.

The sign in the picture says "You cannot evict an idea." I don't think anyone is asking them to give up their ideas. They are just telling them they cannot live and camp in a public park. They still have a voice. They can gather in the park during the day. They can vote in elections. They can choose to only buy products from companies they believe are ethical and pay fair wages. They can express their beliefs and criticisms on message boards, like this one. In many countries people do not have any of these freedoms. Canada is far from perfect but I think it's a pretty fantastic country.

Why bother of voting in elections knowing you will have the same puppets, the same elites in power? who want to go to war with a country? and the fact that the whole system maybe even corrupted.

Well take a look at the comment section its a pretty harsh debate, if i may add, alots of pro stockers in there

People at work, my Friends, they don't even know anything about the occupy.. in Canada or any other part of the world

Because those people, like the OP stated, won't learn about it, or understand it, until the big fat idiot box tells them so. And we already know exactly what the idiot box is saying, hence some of those misinformed comments.

good point, I don't see anything ridiculous in that statement, other than assuming your vote means anything. We vote Liberal, they act like conservatives in office. We vote Conservative, they act like conservatives in office.

And when I say "we vote" I refer to the percentage of the population Harper ALLOWED to vote in the last election with his restriction shenanigans.

But other than that, the guy is right, unless you are actively demonstrating through the night, you can easily move. And guess what? some of the Canadian ones already have. I think it was Halifax that asked them to relocate so they could have their Remembrance Day ceremony (Remembering those who fought in wars for us) and they did

Thats just one of them that i saw at the comment section that, to make a comment that police should be using water canons at the Occupy protesters isnt a great idea, i guess people here in Toronto already forget what happend at G20 or in greece with the water canons these type of comments are ridiculous which is what i was referring to.

The people here in toronto who didnt support the Occupy Protesters reminded me on how big of the sheeps we really are oh yes lets listen to our lying Neocon Mayor lets be happy and think everythings just fine in Toronto there wasnt a recession at all.


Sorry to brust your bubble but my family freinds do feel a recession, finding a job is almost to impossible, and as for Welfare here, tell how do can expect to live by just 500$/700$ dollars per month by welfare? thats almost impossible.

And also i keep hearing how ordinary workers fear on losing there jobs if they try to take a vacation for a bit longer period just because of this global economic crisis.

I do support Occupy Protests message, and i do support Occupy christmas because sadly christmas has became a consumer capitalism? rather then spending a time with your family or understanding the true spiritual meaning of christmas.

All i see now on the TV are those TV Ads (leon's Xmas HOHO hold the payments! season seatings!) those type of ads are everywhere during Xmas, is this what the real christmas was and has became?
