Police shoot gunman threatening Occupy Houston protesters

www.rawstory.com

An armed man, who witnesses say claimed to be “The White Knight” while threatening Occupy Houston protesters, was shot by police Monday.

On Tuesday, authorities charged 21-year-old Joshua Anthony Twohig with aggravated assault on a public servant, according to The Houston Chronicle.

Twohig was reportedly wearing a black suit and carrying a .40-caliber rifle when he walked through the Occupy Houston encampment in Tranquility Park at about 5:15 p.m. Monday.

Occupy Houston activists, who said that Twohig was not part of their movement, told KPRC that he claimed he was “The White Kn

Suicide by cop? He was shouting "shoot me, shoot me" to the police.

Doesn't sound like your usual suspect - enrolled in college, was on the Dean's list, married with a one-year old child - and doesn't appear to have found any work since leaving school.

Did the economy drive this guy over the edge?

Well there is that violence we heard of on the debate tonight!
OWS is associated with violence now!!!

It is cool all of the attempts the MSM has made to make the occupy movement look bad.
It makes me wonder if the guy was a plant by the PTB.

(Edit)
It will be interesting to know if his wife and baby recieve some sort of windfall.

It's getting crazy out there, I wonder why he chose the Occupy location. It's too bad maybe he was just pushed too far. If so it's sad that some people think money is worth more than life.

From the report it seems he left school without graduating, yet he was on the Dean's list, so obviously not a bad student. He was young, just married, one-year old child, no job - tough place to be in.

His injuries weren't life threatening. He's very alive and hospitalized. No 'suicide by cop' here.

love how they run to this excuse anytime something negative happens with OWS .

This has more of a negative effect on OWS then a positive one. Why would the "PTB" inject it ? The OWS movement is doing a great job in losing public support since they started . They don't need help with that lol . I know in toronto business owners and locals are getting very upset with them, sent many complaints to city to get them out.

Secondly the MSM has given plenty of air time for OWS. Its usually the first story when i watch the local news at night. oh these pesky PTB , the things they do right!

If he was calling himself their "white knight" sounds more like he was planning to shoot police in defense of Occupy.
I know that Occupy wouldn't support him or harming cops, but it does sound like that is what he was deluded into believing. Occupy did the right thing informing the police.

He was exercising his 2nd amendment rights. Did he draw his gun on cops? If he did then he needs to be shoot. If he dident then the cops are at falt and the cops need to go to jail for shooting a man

It is a matter of time before more and more of these types of things happen. People are MAD! Even people like myself and my family, all of us make low six figure incomes and all of us are MAD! I have seen people that never used to be able to stand in the same spot coming together in their anger.

The MSM loves to use the police as misdirection.

The only reports about the movement are specific to police activity.

No interviews by the protestors, no interviews of wall street.

Just police versus the downtrodden.

This was posted a couple of days ago and a guy claiming to be the shooters brother-in-law made an account on ATS to tell everyone that they didnt know what they were talking about when they speculated to why he did it. And he said that he wasn't saying why the guy did it, that everything would come out in court. Heres the thread..

Not really..
It depends on the law. He has the right to own guns, but maybe no to have them in the city. Did he have a carriers license?

I do agree though that if he wasn't threatening anyone with it the cops are guilty and should go to trial.

The holiday season brings about plenty of stress in people and sometimes people just snap. Given his situation, maybe he thought this was the best way to end the stress, the troubles and the worries.

I'm sure we will learn more about him in the days to come.

Just shows how lazy and corrupt the POlice have become when they gun down heroes like this.

Why can't they understand, occupy movement is nothing but socialists, people whose minds have long since buckled under this cancer of the mind and turned them into walking buckets of turd.
