Anon did not start OWS. This was once a small but outspoken group of people that didn't get any attention at first. The first video was posted in June 2011, that is long before this turned into what it is now.
I posted the video above.

Peace, NRE.

I support it completely. It's American people. Young & old, employed & unemployed, exercising their right as an American, to question their leadership. Whether it be the POTUS, the GOP, the Dems, the CEOs, Banks or whoever, it's our right to express our disgust with what is going on. In fact, it's our duty to question those that we employed… questions their actions, and fire them if they fail.

The uncontrollable fraud, the complete thievery of the American dream and holding it hostage, is disgusting. The complete lack of control over the system to which they are paid to control on our behalf, for us, who pay them, is nothing less than totally irresponsible.

I am so fed up with people saying it's only the homeless, or crack heads, or the unemployed wannabe hippies with nothing better to do that "push their socialist agenda" holy crap you lemmings... turn off the TV and go down and speak to these people. Ask them about how they lost their job because Agilent sent it overseas to Sri Lanka. Ask them how they lost their house because the Mortgage Company preyed upon and suckered them into a stupid loan without educating them on the consequences once it balloons into a triple payment after 2 years. Then sell said loan to 40 different firms. Ask them why their children are sick or parents are in nursing homes, because they could not afford simple health care that should be provided for everyone. HEALTH is NOT and entitlement. It's a human tragedy when we start plucking people off because they don't have 400 a month to shell out for a doctor who gives half ass service. You talk to those people, and they will tell you why they are really there.

You have the top 1% making more money than the 99% combined. You have all the money going into their pockets, yet the rest of us, who make meager earnings even though we have a college degrees, paid off our loans, work our asses off every day, 7 days a weak to make it, still have to pay for 80% of everything...

Pareto’s law. 80% of the people pay, for 20% of the peoples’ riches...

….and before you anti- whatever i just said above people post your musings... I am not 1% and proud of it. I make a comfortable 6 figures, have a healthy life, healthy family, nice home.... but I am also scared to death that I could have it all stripped away from me. I fear what it would feel like if that was all taken away after working so hard to get it. I have friends better off than me who have lost everything, and are part of the movement. Take your tunnel vision glasses off before you start preaching your "go get a job" crap. If there were jobs, trust me, I know they would take them. If you are so pissed off at the Occupy people than tell HP, GM, Honda, Toyota, Dell, Lockheed, Raytheon, tell them to bring their businesses back to the USA so jobs will be available again to the hundreds of thousands that lost their jobs when they left. Tell the government to start helping Small Businesses since that is where 98% of American jobs come from. Tell the banks to stop illegally foreclosing on peoples homes. Tell Wall Street to stop paying Government lackeys to do their bidding. Quit bitching and do something like the Occupiers are.

ok.. /rant end.

Well, I'll tell you what....I live in a domestic violence program. I am a very petite woman, weighing about 105, and I am going downtown nearly every day for job interviews. I am seeking to work in one of the corporations these people hate, and guess what? I dress nicely for interviews.

If you look like you have a couple of bucks they are all over ya! Disgusting!

Cheesy Rice, it's always the same couple of guys, too! I'm like "hey, don't you remember me telling you NO yesterday?"

I had gone to where they all meet a few times, and these same guys are always there.

Ugh.. be careful... women are getting sexually assaulted at these rallies... its gotta suck going to interviews and these people perfectly capable of working are asking for money...

Yes, My opinion about OWS has changed. I was fairly neutral, but supported the idea of people petitioning their government. Now, after researching, reading and watching, I support OWS completely. I am thrilled to see the PEOPLE doing what it takes to take back their country and put the power back where it should be. With the people.

Absolutely spot on.
This really is a great movement and one that is for everyone and unlike anything we've had in the world for a long, long time.

No, i still think it's a pointless, un-thought-out self important waste of time that could be spent working. Especially in my home town where our system is nothing like that of the U.S. All they do here is mess with public transport, shut down parts of the CBD and stink up the place. Plenty of work where i live, but they don't care they'd rather complain, most of them not knowing what it is they're complaining about.

So NO, it certainly has not changed.

Flame away, i really don't care.

Yes, and I am already hyper vigilant considering what I have been through. I don't like it when scruffy looking men get withing a few inches of me, begging for money.

If it wasn't the same jerks over and over again it wouldn't bother me as much, because there are quite a few homeless people in Phoenix in the winter. What really bothers me is they are infringing on my right to go about my personal business. I object to being stopped while on my way to accomplish something only to tell them NO, again!

Honestly, if I run into these guys when I go to town tomorrow, and they bother me, I am calling the coppers! I might be the one to start a riot, yet!

When somebody mentioned how the TPTB need a trigger to instigate martial law to get that WW3 started already, I realized how very advantageous this whole OWS thing seems to be.

Don't let them start WW3. Besides, I think that OWS is infested with a hoard of Mind Control Victims waiting to be activated for the worst part of this psyops, which has yet to come.

The Elite probably initiated this with a controlled group with the intention of riffe raffe mixing in, but after a few weeks, the ordinary folks outnumbered the army of sold-out commandos, to where they felt it was threatening the ability to keep things under wraps. All the legit protestors that are walking around with camera phones are constantly a threat capable of unmasking the OWS as one huge psyops.- I'm speculating.

Stay safe... call 911 id love to see you on the local news LOL!

Many of the early threads and posts were quite supportive and positive about this movement and people were really interested and waiting to see what would happen....as the movement grew and caught fire and travelled around the globe, people got worried.... not only those with something to lose (The 1%) but also those who don't want change, who are scared of what change will bring and are worried by anything new and revolutionary.

This is when the lies and propaganda started.

This is when people started with the rape, murder, robbery, nazi, theft and all manner of other BS stories and lies and propaganda about the movement.

It's sad that so many believe the BS being spread and parroted by people who are trying to bring down a truly organic and global movement.

Europe and the Middle East had been protesting and rising up for a year or more and then America (New York to be specific) had their own little sit down, peaceful protest.... who knew then that this would spread and unite the already existing protests and angry people.

People who we know, come from all walks of life and from every political angle and persuasion.

We have young and old..... conservative and liberal.... rich and poor.....unions and business owners.

It is fantastic.

And despite the best efforts of cowards, liars, disinfo spreaders and absolute idiots on the news, on ATS and out there in the real world, this movement continues to press forward and continues to be the main news... people the world over are discussing issues they never did before... these issues and protests are still the basis for most news programmes and many people's conversations.

I think the fact that the movements do not have a leader or a clear goal have worked to their advantage... people need a single figure or single idea to beat and break down and ridicule.

OWS provides no such figure.. which is why we have seen the kinds of disgusting lies and propaganda and underhand tactics used by the idiots who seek to attack and destroy this movement.
They cannot beat a thousand ideas spoken and put forward by millions of people.... they just can't.

So keep on keeping on.... these Global Occupy protests are just the start.

People are angry and they now know that they have a voice again.

The economy will get worse, more joblessness and more poverty.

This makes for more pissed off people...

If I were against or afraid of these movements, I would be very worried about the future.

Thankfully I completely support this movement and so pleased and proud of what my fellow human beings have accomplished and continue to do.

Peace

No change in my opinion here. I have been a skeptic since day one. Although in principle,I thought what they were doing was a good thing. They just continued to dig the hole even deeper with the wise remarks, public urination and defecation, vandalism, and relying on the most overblown rhetoric imaginable. It did not help them either to flip flop constantly from one issue to another.

As I have said on another thread, it was the diversity that did them in from the beginning. It seemed most were reading off of their own page? In other words, they provided nothing to latch on to. Maybe next time demonstrators will take the time to go over the issues in detail, organize, and determine a core set of principles, ideals, and an agenda? I am not knocking them too much, but I do believe serious soul searching needs to be done within this movement. The whole thing is falling on deaf ears at the moment. The general population is losing interest. That is my take on OWS.

My opinion of it has not changed since my initial reactions on Sep 17th. OWS is a movement that will continue to gain momentum and won't stop - but will continue to grow - until the issues raised are directly addressed by the leadership of this country.

It's the sort of movement that one will only see once in their lifetime, and in my opinion with the direction we are headed in now, America will not reach it's 300th birthday and the OWS movement is largely trying to change that. I think in the end it will be healthy for America but fear that if the law enforcement and government agencies don't check themselves and show some restraint in the midst of this, blood will be shed before all is said and done.

well, I have this that I posted about here clicky clicky

I know that counts as something... I also can understand why a lot of people see it the way you see it. But I know I would rather be on the side of the fence of action, than a mindless drone doing what I am told while someone else tastes my success and I don't get anything from it. I think you see it as pointless because either a. you don't think it directly effects you (now) b. you don't want to believe that things aren't in fact all peachy, or 3. just don't care, and are indifferent.

I notice the members opposing them the strongest are often opposed to almost everything that involves change.

Yea and the last time the people ran to "change" what happened? I don't support knee-jerk change. Too much happens in this country because people don't think of the consequences of their actions. So yea I don't support the change being touted by the many different members of ows. Considering that on one hand we get to hear how one person doesn't represent the movement yet we get a myriad of examples of what one person or a small group say that some of our pro-ows members say are right. Hence the need for a actual message and recognized leader [s]. Otherwise it becomes a matter of personal opinion that means nothing next to another opinion from another member. Not to mention that the actual occupy wall street has had its own problems! link II link

Ok I've seen this claim posted several times before. I'm sorry but, I've been reading plenty of sources about many of these incidents and very few of those protests and riots taking place elsewhere in the world have little or nothing to do with OWS.

Yet, many supporters will have you believe otherwise and that they are all one in the same or over the same cause.

Isn't that a bit of a stretch?

It's sad that so many believe the BS being spread and parroted by people who are trying to bring down a truly organic and global movement.

I've been accused of spreading BS when I attempt to discuss the real issues with OWS.
So where does that leave me?

yes there have been a few bad things that have happened, but that should not undermine the reason for the movement. It's unfortunate when asshats like those kind of people take advantage of the most vulnerable types in a group setting because they think they can get a way with it. These things happen every single day all over the country, by all types of bad people, but because the spotlight is on the OWS folks, only those at the tent cities are being singled out and being protrayed across the media as "see, those are they type of people those occpuiers are"... when that is not true. Good news is not good media.. It's doesn't sell. Sex and violence sells. People would buy a front row ticket to the end of the world, before they would even watch a 3 minute infomercial about the Discovery of peace and happiness.

ps.. who HASN"T peed in public

Thanks for the reply. Firstly while 'halting foreclosures' during the Christmas period is an.... interesting version of victory, i hardly call that an effective outcome of this global movement. People will still get kicked out, they just get a reminder of happy times before-hand this way. It's something yes, but not what i'd call anything tangible.

It's dangerous to assume things about others on the internet, especially here. You'll get a new one ripped verbally. Not from me, i will simply reply to your assertions. I'll use 1, 2 and 3 though as your a, b and 3 system was confusing

1.) I've listed how the movement has affected me. If you think for a second i don't know what state we're in financially then you're completely wrong. I've said from the start i do not believe this is the right way to go about changing that. In fact i would support the movement if some form of planning, structure, and game-plan had gone into it from the start. Instead of hearing the same generic chant they have in NYC emanating from my local city streets with one or two words changed. Do they have suggestions on what to do? No, they just want 'insert chant here'. The global economy affects everyone, i do not support a bunch of people stinking up my local parks, most of whom are just there to get food and look important for no real outcome.

2.) See above, ridiculous suggestion. If i thought things were all peachy i wouldn't be on this site for one thing. I wouldn't be speaking with friends about ways to protect their money, make wise borrowing decisions, and hold off on my own interests as we speak. It is possible to be disheartened with the present financial scenario, while not agreeing with the largest current radical 'solution' you know.

3.) Point three was again basically the same as the other two. Again, if i didn't care i wouldn't be here commenting on it.

When i see real strategy, well thought out plans and a proper solution instead of just whinging and unwashed hair, then i'll pay attention.
