Brief outline: Ship has grown weary of the Tumblers' bickering, and faces her emotions regarding Carpet. She has a change of heart regarding Silo13. She cuts off all communication with the Tumblers, near despair. The Tumbler crew and Team Yydryl will have to sort things out without her.

Brief outline: Adam meets with Gert who explains to him that he was King Arthur Pendragon and he must avenge himself for Lancelot's betrayal of him with Gwuinivere. Adam sees through Gert's eyes that Dag and Brittle are together, and hears Dag's thoughts about himself. They hear their rescuer arriving. Brittle takes off into the dark without her or any gear. Ben tells her they must track him and that it is crucial that he get to his destination.
Gert sends Adam away with only a directive; get Brittle to Fairy Stone Mountain.
She and Merlin and the Splitter reveal they have deceived everyone toward an end we are yet to discover.

The story that Dag and Brittle were told is exposed; Ben and Dag rid themselves of the amulet and their mission, and put the horses to speed, headed back west to find their friends.

Brief outline: Dag and Ben arrive back at the outfitter's camp and realize they have no provisions with which to sustain them on their journey to find the others. They go to Home-Town to find it deserted. Dag becomes irritated, and leads the way to the jewelry shop from where she and Brittle had first been taken into the land of the Fay.

The trapdoor triggers the bell at Gert's hut, which Adam and the Tumblers and crew hear. Cecilia tells him Ship is back online and he is to go to the hut.

Meanwhile, Gert is in the cave of Enchantments with Pandora, and hears the bell ring as well. Ben and Dag arrive and produce the jewels which belong to the deity that the wolves obey, which Nun'Yunu'Wi has introduced to Tibbs and Mucklebones...but the Splitter snatches them just as Dag is ready to negotiate.
