Could you calmly and rationally explain what your issue with OWS is, including sources for anything you state as fact? I've never seen anyone in OWS actually say they want a communist economy, much less a communist government, and creating such is actually not the point of the movement. If you had done even a lick of research, you'd know that.

Why exactly don't I want that? Why don't I want our government to care for our poor and oversee banking institutions in a way that is not corrupt, so as to end the corruption that caused this economic crisis?

In my private home, you don't have the right to air your opinion, and if you do I am free to kick you out.
On that privately owned website, the same is true.

do you miss the irony in saying that? OF COURSE, you can exercise your right to private property! no one is arguing that. it's now officially a straw man to argue that. the point is they claim to believe in free speech for everyone....with the exception of some conspiracy theorists. not all conspiracy theorists. so now the world of conspiracy theory is gonna get split right down the middle too.

They are exercising their right to keep their private property clean and without the spam that Ron Paul and Alex Jones creates. Ron Paul posts I can especially see removing, because they do not want to endorse any politician. Not Obama. Not Perry. Not Paul.

because the people are better at it than the gov is. if the gov does it, the gov takes too much and does too little, and demands more and more. if the people do so themselves and the gov stays out of it, alot more is accomplished. use to be all this type of stuff was handled at the community level, and the jobs were plentiful because the gov didn't have to keep adding more taxes and fees and permits to generate cash to grow itself into a monster that eats the livelihood of its people.and destroys the jobs and any chance for people to pick what they want to do with their lives

Here's a post directly off the OWS boards by a moderator. If this is what they really stand for, then I completely reject the movement.

Stop posting RonPaul comments, you will be blocked from this site. OWS does not endorse political candidates, especially RonPaul
Some people don't understand why we are censoring posts. This is not a free speech issue, if you don't agree with our agenda you shouldn't be writing on our website.
We want free education, free health care, and unemployment benefits for everyone by taxing the 1% and most importantly we want to end capitalism!!
RonPaul talks about ending the Federal Reserve. This has nothing to do with Occupy Wall Street as this is a Government Agency that helps increase employment by lowering interest rates. Occupy Wall Street wants a bigger government that can provide for the people, we don't want to decrease the size of the government! That doesn't make any sense.
RonPaul also wants to stop the wars, which again has nothing to do with the OWS goals. While everyone has their own opinion about the wars, we need to trust Obama who during his Peace Prize speech explained that some wars are necessary to achieve true peace in the world.
We agree to freedom of speech when promoting our agenda in public places but not from RonPaul supporters on our website. At the next meeting I will try to get a consensus to block RonPaul supporters from our meetings and protests. Hopefully we can create a black list of these right wing extremists and make sure they don't get in our way.
Stop posting RonPaul comments, you will be blocked from this site. - OWSmoderator

Is this satire or what?

The Federal Reserve increases employment? Trust Obama?

Somebody please provide me with a link. If this came straight from the horses mouth, the Occupy movement is little more than controlled opposition. Is the above an official statement representative of all the "Occupiers"?

Except many of the people who hate OWS, especially the richest 1%, do a very poor job of actually donating to charity. Bill Gates is a wonderful exception to this; the late Steve Jobs a poster boy. This is one of the many areas that Islam has us beat, because it is required for them to give to charity. We don't have that. We are an altogether greedy society, and someone has to make sure the needy are cared for regardless of our own hatred of them.

oh bs. what a steaming pile of poop that was. i can't believe you expect full grown and well read adults to believe that. we already pay exorbitant amounts in taxes to help people, and i don't mind that part EITHER! because i don't mind helping people! what i mind is all the additional taxes, fees and permits levied against our possible successes, to such extreme that most never get anywhere and the few who do get strangled by fees and fines and taxes, unrelated to things like paying for welfare, police, education, military, emergency services, road maintance, forestry and fire departments. did you know we have over 300 separate top secret agencies? 300. and i mean they are each three letter orgs. what the heck do we need that many for?

and that's just the tipppppety top of the iceberg.

Relying on taxes isn't leaving it to the community. You said it was best to leave charity to the community, but we have no incentive to be charitable. That's just against the nature of Americans.

Mountains out of mole hills, theres plenty of legitimate reasons not to like OWS. This however is not one of them. I don't want to get into OWS debate and derail the thread so I'll leave it at that.

well what i mean is, if we don't have so many things working against our ability to be capitalists in our own businesses, we have more jobs and if we have more jobs, fewer people have to go on the gov dole, and if fewer have to go on the gov dole, that taxes can be lower.

everything you see, all the wars, the devastation of our economy, the class warfare, is all the end result of a hostile socialist take over. they are just squabbling over who gets to own the slaves now.

Do you honestly believe that CEOs will choose to hire more people instead of fattening their own wallet if you remove all government oversight? If given the chance they'd lower minimum wage and still only employ the bare minimum to run their stores or offices.

yes because if taxes were lower... people would have more money.. if people werent sucking on Americas breast their entire life... we wouldnt be in this problem...

PERIOD...

lower taxes = high bottom line = more volume = more work = more hiring

sitting around a drum circle does NOTHING

where did i say remove govenrment oversight? that ain't it at all. this is how it works, joe blow wants to open his own tattoo parlor, but he has to get incorporated (expensive), buy any necessary permits, equipment, building, furniture, etc, including proof that he's been properly medically trained to stick people with needles and correct santiation procedures. all that costs money, not just out of his pocket, but the tax payer also has to pay for all the time spent on the paperwork to make sure everything's above board. that gov employee costs tax payer money, so instead of that gov employee working in the community and helping the community make money by her labor, her labor belongs to the gov but the tax payers have to pay for it.

now let's say joe wants to hire joelene. he has file more paperwork and pay more taxes, not on his profit margin (that comes later), but simply because he gave someone a job. it gets worse and worse. the more people he hires, the more gov gets involved, the poorer joe gets and the less he can pay joelene and the other employees. enter, unions. joe's not paying joelene and the other employees enough and if he doesn't start, they will picket his tattoo parlor(s), beat up or harrass any of joe's employees that still want to go to work. eventually joe has to go out of business because he can't pay his employees and meet union standards. they all go on unemployment and welfare. taxes go up.

vicious circle down down down into poverty until such time as communism can just swoop in full bore and steal what's left.

Now I don’t know about you but i'm pissed! Alex Jones has been exposing the NWO, political corruption, the Federal Reserve, TPTB, etc for the past 18+ years. Is he a little crazy? SURE he is, but aren't we all?

Alex Jones hasn't really done much of anything IMO. He certainly doesn't speak for me and when he spews his "exclusive interviews" it's a tad bit of truth (sometimes) mixed in with a whole lot of "rhetoric", that gives the unknowing "goosebumps" and "it sounds good". Honestly, OWS has every right to admonish anyone who may NOT be for the better good of their movement. I for one, respect that decision.

If the shoe fits, then why not wear it? Alex Jones has a forum unto his own and anyone interested in him can certainly tune into his ridiculous airwaves of madness with/without promoting his views nationally or internationally. Enough of us here on ATS have decided that he has been "bought" or "neutralized" a long time ago. However you may perceive "US", is just that....PERCEPTION.

That is all...carry on and don't be offended. To each his/her own OP

He's like a controlled opposition, who MUST go on a wild and totally whacked out zany RANT every now and again in order to be just the right amount of LOONEY to keep getting to do what he does. Ever seen his "joker" rant? So he does great work and then goes crazy.. why?
