Permanent Peoples' Tribunal accuses biotech giants Monsanto, Dow, Bayer, Syngenta, DuPont and BASF of promoting dangerous pesticides including endosulfan, paraquat and neonicotinoids

The world's major agrochemical companies, Monsanto, Dow, Bayer, Syngenta, DuPont and BASF, will face a public tribunal in early December accused of systematic human rights violations. They are accused of violating more than 20 instruments of international human rights law through promoting reliance on the sale and use of dangerous and unsafe pesticides including endosulfan, paraquat and neonicotinoids.

I dont know how everyone feels about these companies, but I get the feeling this is a sight for sore eyes. These have been topics around here for a while and now a court will listen to scientists opinions on them.

Bayer are a bunch of murdering scumbags.
They gave aids to hemophiliacs in France after they found out that they couldn't sell the drugs here in the USA because it was tainted with aids.
Rot in hell!

Unfortunately monsanto should be charged with so much more, all the GMO crops are the bigger culprit and pure poison. Bugs die from the internal pesticides from the plants but humans are so evolved that we can take as much as we want. Complete BS.

The "Permanent People’s Tribunal" isnt a court.
Really its not much more than a bunch of people sitting around talking about stuff and writing an official looking document afterwards.
You could start your own "People's Tribunal" if you wish.

Noted. Was unaware of this. However, either way this document can really be used to start a fire that leads to a public case by the supreme court or what have you.

The day companies like Monsanto are no longer allowed to exist, will be the day that society is able to evolve closer to our full potential.

"Monsanto should not have to vouch for the safety of biotech food. Our interest is in selling as much of it as possible. Assuring its safety is the FDA’s job.”
-Phil Angell, Monsanto’s former director of corporate communications

these companies are the lowest of the low,but in our current system we have to deal with the fact that even if they had to front a judge the likelyhood would be that judge is a shareholder in said company...these people are above the law..ffs they make the laws...and even if they didnt they are cashed up enough to pay the system off...iether way people get poisoned and our environment is destroyed....and the people in control of this are sitting back in their mansions and drive bently's and holidaying in the bahamas via their private jets

It isn't a trial unless its in a court of law.
Title is misleading.

Yeah, it may be a peoples court with no teeth; but it will produce documentation that will at the very least attempt to raise enough awareness to see this issue in a real court. There are a lot of secrets around these companies that the media will not talk about. The form of an official (albeit holding no sanctions of legality) document, produced after listening to scientists who are experts in the field. This could turn into a nice little tool to work with in a trial.
