An Oxford graduate is tweeting events from World War II in real time on the social networking site Twitter.

Alwyn Collinson began his six-year project on 31 August, on the eve of the invasion of Poland by Germany.

So far he has gathered 70,000 followers on the account @RealTimeWWII, sending up to 40 tweets a day.

What doeshe have, access to a time machine?

I do not understand how someone can 'tweet' 'real time' posts from WW II.

I don't twit, so I can't look at the tweets.

Basically he is tweeting the major events and news in chronological order on the corresponding day in 2011. It is fascinating. Definitely follow him if you're a twitter user.

Sorry, I wasn't aware of the new definition for real time.

Now that I looked it up, I find it ironic that a 'real time' text feed like twitter is posting such dated info, in 'real time'.

Typically a project that is about wasting time. I could go to his twitter page in six years (God I hope twitter is dead by than) and cntrl-C the whole thing.....

Seriously some people should re-evaluate how they spend their time. I fail to see what this can contribute to other than spark someones interest in history (which can be done by the other tons of sites out there) and the attention whoring of it's initiator.
