So to start this off my name is Jake, I am 20 years old. For the past several months I have wanted to have a near death experience only because I have always had this feeling that I did not appreciate life enough. So I kind of got what I was asking for, but in a whole different punch. It came as a dream, a VERY vivid dream. The dream was so vivid it was to the point that when I woke up I was more surprised that is was actually just a dream other than what the dream consisted of. The dream goes something like this...

So the start of my memory for the dream was when I was walking down this busy hallway, the typical hospital setting, white walls, white floors you get the picture. I walk into a doctors office and sit down and the doctor comes in and I begin telling him about my chest pains and how my lungs felt murky (I am a smoker... Or was until this dream). So he starts doing his examination to figure out whats wrong with me and all of a sudden he got real quiet. There was this box on the other side of the room, I walked up to the box with him, and on this box was several different drawers. The top drawer was labeled as "EXTREME URGENCY NEAR DEATH EQUIPMENT" and the third drawer down was labeled as "URGENT EMPHYSEMA AND CANCEROUS CELLS". I watched him grab the third drawer and shake his head, then he goes to grab the top drawer, and once again stops. Then he turns around and tells me he has bad news and tells me that there is nothing that he can do for me, that I have two days left to live and that my heart was infected and that I had lung cancer. He told me that after 24 hours my heart rate would start dramatically dropping below 100 (rather high for resting but w/e) and it would continue to drop throughout the second day. All I could feel was helpless, distraught, and somewhat relieved.. Afterwards I shook his hand and I just walked out the door, and started going back down the hallway. Every time my feet hit the floor my heart was shattered because I didn't know how to break the news to my girlfriend, and I also have a little brother who is around the age of ten. Besides them I wasn't concerned about dying because I knew everyone would be okay. I was actually relieved that it was finally my time, but the pain and confusion of how to tell my girlfriend and family what was going on was intense.

I truly feel like I finally got the near death experience I was looking for.. If anyone wants to interpret this dream go at it.. I take it as a warning for me to quit smoking and so on. I truly appreciate life after this dream..

It wasn't a dream. It was real. You were dying, but the great Flying Spaghetti Monster made a copy of your universe with "cp -r -f", the only edit being that you'd wake up in your bed remembering only "a dream." The condition was of course that you would quit smoking, be a good man, a good brother, and that you'd love your life. Enjoy!

You don't need an interpretation. You already know what it means.

(I am a smoker... Or was until this dream).

You is or was? Now the hard part. Actually quitting and staying quit. Hardest thing you will ever do. I know. I smoked for 35 years and my reward is emphysema. Slow death by denial. You want your loved ones to face this world without you? Of course not. Straighten up and fly right.

I quit 4 years ago now. The only way I was able to is with the Nicoderm Patches. It is a step down approach and I highly recommend it. Gradual withdrawal from nicotine is better than sudden complete stop. It's much easier that way. Patches come in three "steps". Two weeks each. Double up and do 4 weeks of 1st and second step, then 2 weeks of third.

The price seems high but is no different than what it costs you for a pack a day habit. You have been warned now. Go for it. Don't wait for the effect of the dream to wear off. Start fighting the insidious cigarette today.

U2U me for advice or support as you go thru with it.
