Super Committee: A waste of time, this is my take on them.
An other taxpayer spending idea that is nothing more than a waste of time and money, that has no real meaning other than see we tried,
Oh yes this was Obama's plan, make a comity to make the cuts , but in the long run there is no cuts so in the end , there will be automatic cuts, but we in office will still get our pay , to bad for Mil, SS, state aid and programs, the poor and the needy, and with a final word:
Happy Thanks Giving and a Marry X mass to all that need no help, to you that do , maybe next year.
PS.
That is if you make it till then.

Sorry, had to ask: are you trying to say 'comity' or "committee"? The former is the correct spelling love. As to a waste of time, hell, it was worth a shot. Lets face it, no matter who is in office, I doubt that congress would work for them just out of spite.

At this point i am not sure any more as to the meaning of comity or is it committee neither seem to do much of anything, other than to agree, not to agree, nor make me laugh, I put this here as a wake up call for some that still think there is hope , not!!! If by chance they do pull a rabbit out the hat by Wednesday, this is to say they have made the cuts and agreed

, sorry had to for it does make me laugh, then i will take back all I said about the comity er committee

The failure here is more than a bit disturbing actually. To me, it suggests a serious lack of overall control over events like many would assume is there behind the scenes. The charter of this committee was unprecedented in the circumstances and influence they would have been able to wield.

Weren't many of us talking about how this committee would lead to massive changes without going through the full due process, back when it was first suggested and created? Now even THAT extreme measure has come up short. This seems a real bad sign in the overall scheme of things.

Oh from one extreme to the next should we bring back the beliefs Joseph R. McCarthy? Could it be that people are so tired of failed promises that they will try anything, any party just once? I think so.

I think anyone with any sense knew from the start that this committee was useless. They had to make it look like they care all the while they knew they wanted to steal more money from SS and food from the mouths of the poor and unfortunate. These looming steep cuts don't mean anything to any one of the members of the so called super committee. They are just words and numbers on paper because it won't affect their lifestyle, so they have no real reason to look for a compromise. Washington is so disconnected from the people it seems only a myth that they represent the average person.

Obama could not come right out and say i need to make cuts for the SS EBT Mil(VA) and other social programs, that would be a death nail to his seat in office. What he , Obama did was a work of art and skill , make up a committee, tell them "you have X days to do this, if you fail and leave me no choice I will do what needs to be done" now this is the art of and skill, stack the deck 6 and 6, 6 Rep's 6 Dem's seems fair right wrong it is a house divided nothing will get done and then think of this what is $1.5 trillion in cuts over the next 10 years we are at 14 Trillion now in spending in ten years that is "10 years" this will be 14 x 5.5% in growth a year x 10 x15% modest interest rate x 7% cost of living rate for them in power x 4X a year, got to keep them SUV and laptops up to date, not to mention all them $1000 a plate lunches, dinners, and the like. ok now to recap... BTW, I stink at math so here goes... 14x 5.5% x10 =10.7800000000
+ 1.5 tril @ 15%Interest
0.105@ 7% in cost of living
0.42 total cost of live per year
12.7 Trillion - 1.5 trillion Obama saving package +the 14.5 trillion we have now... gee that is 25.7 Trillion dollars now this does not include any more wars nor Mil budget nor Obama's health care plan add say 2.5 trillion for each and that still might not be the real number , notice I left out bail outs

well now that the story is out SC fails , and Obama can do the auto cuts , there is nothing left to say.. too this 6 Dems and the 6 Reps that did nothing at all but waste taxpayers money i give you
for the Dems and
for the Reps here is the story abcnews.go.com... I think there is something not right, Wednesday is the dead line. Why through in the towel now ? Could it be to get Dick C and Bush Jr. on the band wagon and make them make the 1.2 trillion deal? For if the cuts go through there will be no pay er funding for KBR nor Halliburton,
