When I was in school I learned that the Egyptians thought they could have eternal life by mummifying. Their is evidence that shows we have cloned mummy's before. Just search for it, their are tons of threads. Mummification preserves DNA and they probably knew that. I wonder if DNA can store memory's. They call %98 of our DNA "junk DNA". Could this part of our DNA hold memory's of our ancestors. Maybe they meant it when they said it gives them eternal life. What do you think?

I am a doubter of this theory.

I think that they believed that preserving the body preserved their soul.

Thousands of years later we dig them up and preserve their mummified remains in special climate controlled cases for who knows how much longer? If you could go back and tell them that would happen to their body they would think that was pretty eternal. Wouldn't you? If I told you I was from the future and your body was preserved in a museum 5000 years form now, what would you think?
