Very much real, tragically.
More on this great man in a thread here.

The video is definitely real. He's a Retired Phillidelphia Captain, I believe and he had every intention of being arrested. He got his wish. He gave interviews when he first arrived in Zuccotti park the other night indicating he knew full well he'd be arrested and had accepted it.

He also indicated in that interview on LiveStream that he was dancing right on the line of impersonating an Officer by not 'giving orders' and the like, while being a huge thorn for NYPD. It sounds like he finally put a toe just the wrong side of the impersonation line he was dancing on....

He did have courage showing up like that though. He deserves respect, regardless, for that fact.

NYPD has enough going on, what with the sex assaults, rapes, murders, drug use and sales, disease, kids getting heckled on their way to school, businesses being vandalized and blocked from patrons...
.

You forgot to mention.....

the 'cop slashers'

This should amuse and satisfy some of the cop (or "Pig," as they are commonly referred) haters on this board.

Break the law, get arrested. Badge or not.
I wonder what a spider canvas is!

Really?

Why does it matter? It's not like the actions of the few officers that arrested him are indicative of the police for as a whole...am I right?

You obviously haven't been in the military nor an organization that deals with ranks. Ever hear the phrase $h*t rolls down hill? If one person is a f**k up then your whole platoon is. However; since this is the Police Department now its the whole entire precincts image that looks bad...

You're spot on in fact. You cannot tar them all with the same brush. It's human nature. The acts of a few label the whole as bad in the public mind.

My point is. If you as an individual are empowered to 'serve and protect', to uphold the law of the land, you especially are expected to abide by those laws. If you as that individual abuse those same laws and powers by continuously assaulting a young female by striking her in the abdomen with your baton, using pepper spray for no other reason than your pissed off by the protesters confronting you, assaulting those who are merely exercising their right to free speech in the knowledge that you will get away with it. All because you wear that badge of entitlement then there is something inherently wrong with that system.

Those that argue. But, but...... Are only fooling themselves.

Captain Ray Lewis, here's a vid and interview.

NYPD also tried beating up a retired supreme court judge the night the park was raided.
