when your light bulbs blew did you have to flick the trip switch to get the bulbs working again? or just replace the bulbs? are the light sockets working with new bulbs in them?

How many bulbs did you lose when the phone broke?

Last time I lost that many (and more) bulbs it was "aliens". I'm laughing but I'm not kidding.
But they didn't all pop at once, it was more like one after the other.

Old house, dodgy wiring and a faulty iphone, sounds like aliens to me.

Electrical surge's might cause unknown effects to I-Phones, no study i know of has ever been done in that area but i imagine an older power system could create (under surge conditions) some type of force that could knock out more fragile electrical items. I imagine anyway

Really, I'm saying it's a mere coincidence. Often things like that happen all the time. There are many variables to consider.
Just because your light bulbs messed up and your phone died doesn't mean anything, really.

well its hardly normal is it

Different floors should be on separate circuits hence some of the house still having light.

It does sound like an electrical surge tbh. I've heard light bulbs make the same noise (when we were still able to buy incandescent bulbs ) when they were just about to go. As for your iPhone, not a clue.

Actually, it's quite normal.
What's abnormal about an electrical surge?
