Beijing fears a policy of encirclement as Barack Obama announces plans to station 250 troops in northern Australia from next year.

Looks like thats Australia striked off my list of places to take refuge during WW3...

It's the same operational practice our US armed forces use. We build exact structures to simulate a raid and run through it hundreds of times till it is done perfectly. The scale of this reproduction is alarming!

Yep.

The seeds of World War 3 are being sown right under our noses.

To be honest most of the images look like something for Calibrating satellites which would make sense,

not bad. makes me think of lil iraq. in nevada. which if you dont know. was basically a replica iraq atmosphere to crash course our soldiers before going over to the war.

This is no secret. The British army even have Afghan refugees who occupy these mock villages and towns so that the training is even more realistic. I saw this on a documentary recently, the detail of the planning is really high. We even use actual amputies with their limbs dressed up to look like fresh wounds to get soldiers used to seeing this kind of violence, they are mostly veterans as well who know what its like to suffer the injury.

S&F, nice find! Pretty interesting, although not really surprising if taking Taiwan is their goal. Seems like things are getting tense, I wonder how recent these pictures and activities are? With the U.S. positioning 2, 500 troops in Australia very soon it's gonna make things harder for China when they wanna take control. Anyone reckon they'll try something before those troops swoop in to save the day? All I can say is never say never, this is one crazy world we live in and just when you think you're in the clear....well, nevermind.

This is undeniably a practice bomb range.

We have them too, Google "Nellis Bomb Range".

Some of those bizarre terrain features built by China in the desert are likely to test terrain mapping features of their cruise missiles and smart bombs.

This one here however looks likes an exact replica of Taiwan's airport, good observation there OP.

China has also declared the south China sea all but off-limits to foreign powers. This is the number one reason Obama moved troops to Australia and brokered a deal with their government for a permanent US military base.

Likely Taiwan has seen the photos and has some nasty surprises set up for the Chinese troops that attack that airfield.

Something like heavy artillery set up a couple miles away and ranged to saturate the field and AA guns and missiles to take out planes attacking the field
