This is an awesome story!
I'm glad the thread popped back up so I could read it.

The afterlife is a very weird place.
It seems different to almost everyone.

I guess we each get our own individual adventure with it.

I'm going all woo here, but i often feel that such things can lend a strange power to a place.

It is people who give power to things, places, other people.
By many avenues. Sometimes unknowingly, others do it at
will.

Outstanding thread.

Sure, that is kinda my point - that by naming something we can give it a power. It may be a power that we give it that is then carried on and grown by others continuing to use it, or something of a more mystical manner akin to animism where the named thing is seen as growing it's own persona and power.

It is similar in a way to what is often called sympathetic magic, like attracting like etc - and shamanic/ancient ideas where knowledge of the name of a thing and it's origins gives one mastery and control over an item, idea or process.

I rarely discuss such stuff on ATS as it's a very personally held thing and relies not one iota on provable things, but in my occasional more mystical moments it's one of those things that is just experienced etc
