I point out the top posters on this website using the same tactics as the MSM along with sarcasm and you respond with.. sourceless quotes (which I'm guessing aren't actual quotes but sentences you constructed from your personal view of OWS) then call it authoritarian and closed minded. Bravo! Bravo!

People who don't agree with OWS are not automatically ignorant... people who base their arguments against OWS on isolated incidents that involve a very clear minority compared to how many people are out there protesting or supporting the protest are. You call this informed.. and then you guys perpetuate the ignorance with your own subtle and overt attempts to discredit an entire movement.

I've based my opinions of OWS on members here, and OWS websites.

And it has held me in good stead.

To me this movement is trying to get something accomplished by cutting the tail off the dog instead of the head. (if you haven't heard this saying...if you cut the tail off the dog the head is left to turn around and bite, if you cut the head the tail is left wagging with nothing to do)
I can respect the few not-so-bad-eggs on doing something for change but this is not my idea of change.
Bankers are a problem, but only one part of it. I say we push for law stating excepting money of any kind to push big business agenda (like wise for those in big business who are bribing) be declared guilty of treason (on account of not having americas over all interest in mind....
I am very anti communist agenda. My grandmother did not come from nazi Germany so her family could one day live in a communist country.
Hats off to the few wanting to fix our system...not the ones trying to bring capitalism crashing down to replace it with something else (while it looks good on paper is also not an ideal life..ask anyone who has lived in a communist country)...You do not by any means have to agree with me, I just wanted my opinion out there. so far I've tried to stay out of this useless OWS arguing as people can't seem to see that someone may be entitled to an opposing view from their their own..and are declared either troll or shill for expressing opinion...on both sides of the argument. I will state again..You do not have to agree with me, but please understand it does not mean I am ignorant for not sharing your ideas to the T.

I hear what you are saying, but wouldn't you agree that alot of the negative press OWS gets is from self inflicted gunshots to the foot? They don't have to be messy. They don't have bang their drums all night. They don't have to have violence happen in their midst. Those things are/should be under their ability to control, yet it doesn't happen.

They could carry themselves in a much better way, that's what I'm saying. At least the Tea Party was a lot more organized and cleaned up after themselves. They obeyed the rules, as they are, and used them to their advantage. You would have thought that OWS would have learned something from that example. To many people, especially, older people, it make the OWS group look unorganized and foolish by not carrying themselves properly. Doesn't seem to be a lot of love for America in OWS, just a lot of complaining about it without solutions, that doesn't play well to the masses. Just my opinion.

The deification on sidewalks happens at such an insignificant rate compared to the rest of OWS.. What are you trying to accomplish by this?

The spoiled hipster rich kid homeless drug addict alcoholic rapists with socialist/communist ideals are now defecating on the sidewalk when they aren't making molotov cocktails for their anarchist agenda?

When you put all these isolated things that people criticize OWS for.. you can see how silly it is.

I'd rather avoid a negligible amount of human and dog feces on the sidewalk than the economic collapse of this country. Maybe then we will have to avoid human feces AND starving people when walking on the sidewalk.

Yeah I have a job too, but they don't permit me to post all day on AbovetopSecret.com , and I even have my own computer there and a desk too. But i have responsibilities, like seeing my subordinates complete tasks and stay busy. I even have to get my hands dirty time to time when said employees are incapable of doing the job themselves. I even have to travel and show some of my fellow 99% how to do said job. They are the 99% and I am the 99%.

I am not special, I am not better then anyone else who earns less then me.

You are correct, you should not judge the whole movement by the actions of a relative few idiots, But OWS has to do better job of presenting themselves. A lot of what I have seen at the local OWS are the type of people who come to a job interview, looking sloppy, with a sloppy application, giving poor answers to interview questions and then wonder why I didn't hire them............. I hate to say that. It sounds like I'm contridicitng myself, but that was the majority of the people I saw and spoke with.. Those were my oberservations firsthand. There were a few people there that didn't fit that mold, but the majority did.

OWS has an image problem, they shouldn't be denying that. Otherwise they would be attracting far more people.

Also it wasn't a very good strategic idea to start the movement in early Fall. With winter coming and the way they are protesting, the weather won't help them at all. It will be hard to sustain numbers on the street like they have in harsh weather.

You are asking why it even happened once.. maybe someone had IBS or food poisoning or sick.. or maybe they didn't want to $h!t in their pants while trying to find a bathroom or wait in a long line. People are so disconnected from their bodies and nature that pooping is this taboo thing and if someone has to do it in public it is the most grievous offensive thing. It's absurd.

People at a protest aren't going to where their sunday clothes.. some people are camping out there and some basically living out of a tent with no shower or clothes washer/dryer.

The problems of OWS are not uncommon to any group.. the only reason it's an image problem is because the media is purposely exaggerating and discrediting or manipulating stories. (not every single one).

As for the protest starting in fall.. we need change now, this moment.. there is no point waiting to protest in spring when the same problems are going to get worse.. and the same media will criticize while the same top posters of ATS lap it up.

What do you consider MSM to be? Because I don't think FOX "News" is in bed with or on the side of the OWS & Obama.

I would consider FOX "News" to be mainstream media due to the fact they have higher ratings than their closest two competitors combined. FOX has higher ratings than CNN & MSNBC put together.

First I would like to say I'm not happy to see this got moved to the "Rant" page. It's no more a rant then anything else I've seen on here. My initial post was reconfirming what OWS stands for. If the Anti-OWS posts get to stay where they are then mine should too. Personally, I think an Anti-OWS Mod didn't like what he saw so he moved it where less ATS members would see it.

On a further note, this video with John Lennon is the reason why I believe OWS will eventually accomplish what they want. Only if it stays PEACEFUL. This just goes to show you how far ahead of his time John Lennon was. For the most part I think he would be on the side of OWS.
