This is a response thread to the "OWS heckles children" thread. I like ATS but in the last two months I think we have forgot the reason we decided to be a part of ATS.
The problem I have is that stories like this are the only leverage Anti-OWS people have. Most Anti-OWSers have to stretch a story to make their claim.

This is an example of every Anti-OWS thread I see on ATS lately.

"Man spits on Cop. OWS has to end"

"OWS protesters run around topless. These people are idiots"

"OWS doesn't know what they want. Look at this stupid kid asking for a handout"

"OWS steals water from a man. These jerks think they are entitled to everything"

The thing that bugs me is that Anti-OWS threads condemn the ENTIRE MOVEMENT due to a few stupid individuals mistakes. The Main Stream Media DOES THE EXACT SAME THING!!! I can't tell you how many times I'm watching CNN and they only show the stupid clueless peoples comments. Or they cut a comment short to make it look like something else. Don't we here at ATS, for the most part, have a strong DISTRUST in the MSM?

All Anti-OWSers are entitled to their opinion but one thing that stands out is that they try to disprove the entire movement because of FEW STUPID INDIVIDUALS. Hell, its even more funny to see someone try to disprove a movement that is occurring NATIONALLY when something stupid happened in Philadelphia. So I guess that makes everyone in Austin, Texas stupid too.

Do me a favor. The next time you go to post something scroll to the top of the page and read what it says.

Deny Ignorance......Please. I didn't join ATS to see this crap. Isn't the Occupy Movement at heart something we all wanted? I wanted something like this to happen BADLY. I can tell you, when I got into "conspiracy theories/fact" I wanted The People to take to the streets in the worst way. I wanted us, as a people, to be united and fight for whats right. The only thing I think that would improve the Movement is if the focus was on the Federal Reserve. Everything, We the People, denounce stems from the Federal Reserve. They are the 4th branch of government that doesn't adhere to checks and balances.

Instead, now I get to read about half baked claims that TPTB planned this uprising. I don't think TPTB planned this at all. I don't think they saw this backlash coming one bit. I think they all thought they were going to get away with their back door deals and laugh all the way to the bank. They are playing 20th Century politics in the 21st Century and they are too transparent for what they are.

Especially, if more and more Police and Armed Forces join this cause. WHICH THEY ARE!!!. Every policemen that joins the cause is one step closer to victory. This movement is about JUSTICE. Nothing more. It hasn't happened yet. Hence, the continuance of these protests. Thankfully, they have remained peaceful. Gandhi and MLK inherently knew Justice will only be attained by civil disobedience no matter the cost. We can't rely on our government to handle it. They can barely handle deciding if our countries motto is still applicable or if pizza is a vegetable. We really rely on these people still?

We live in a time where a website could be set up to vote on issues. If you don't go to said website and vote then you missed out and you can't complain. We as a people can actually govern ourselves with something like this. Why do we need a room packed with a few individuals decide whats right? There is way too much conflict of interest in our politics anymore. That's one of the reasons this Occupy Movement started.

I've got off subject. The point is all the Anti-OWS people need to look at themselves before posting another stupid thread about a handful of protesters that made a mistake. Usually its a mistake we can all agree IS A MISTAKE. Denouncing an ENTIRE MOVEMENT because of a few individuals mistakes is just petty. You guys just look like you're trying way too hard.

END RANT.

Of course they will be insulted. They've been insulted for the last 3 years. Called lazy, worthless, maggots, parasites, bums, etc.

Regardless, people tend to focus on the few idiots in any type of protest and paint the whole movement in that light.

You read my mind!

If people don't agree with the methods of the protests, the way they're going about taking action, or some of the proposed solutions from within the protest, that's fine. Hell, I even sat out of our last event at occupykc, because to put it simply, I didn't agree with the message that was being sent out, and I don't think it had much relevance to the original intent. Regardless of that, every single American ought to agree that our government has been hijacked by bankers.

Corruption within our government led to a lack of regulations which allowed financial institutions to engage in incredibly reckless business practices to make a profit. This came to a screeching halt, and caused the economic collapse which made millions of people lose their homes and jobs all around the world.

These bankers weren't held accountable for their actions, but instead were given $700 billion from the very people who they screwed over. These same institutions continue to exist, and still are in control of our government. The occupy movement is at least calling attention to this disgusting system and trying to take back the country.

Sitting on the internet criticizing them is not going to solve anything. It won't accomplish a thing, except get you some blue stars on an internet website. If you have problems with the movement, go down to your local one, and make a proposal at the GA. If you think you're so much better than them, lead by example, don't hide behind a keyboard and condescend them.

People joined ats for many reasons, just like your OWS movement you try and speak for a group who doesn't want you to speak for them.

Maybe people just don't agree with OWS and that's the real reason instead of your fabrications.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't recall the Tea Party calling attention to our corrupt government, or the fact that bankers have the power and not the people. Weren't they focused more on smaller government rather than a corruption free government?

There have been way more than a few. The problem is the lack of "spokespeople" to come out and condemn the actions of those "few".

I've been to Occupy Wall St. in NYC and all I saw was people infringing on others' rights. Banging drums, yelling at kids (yes they did!), marching whenever and wherever they want, tying up traffic, making it difficult for the 99% to get to work and creating chaos.

If they would just be more respectful of other people's "rights" - other people might be more respectful towards them.

Take the protest uptown to Fifth Ave. where the 1% will actually be bothered by their drums. Disrupt the traffic for their taxis and limos.

I do love how posters talk about other posters on this site when it is a clear violation of terms and conditions so grade school.

People have the right to free speech or just some free speech is tolerated and other speech is not sorry free speech is free speech.

Don't have to like it but gonna have to deal with it.

The problem with OWS is that the target is too broad. This is what leads to misled protesters broadcasting their BS views or wants on national media. Of course the MSM is going to look for these folks and make a spectacle out of them and link them to the entire movement.

Protests of corporate greed as a general portrayal of a movement? Well that's initially a problem since the idea of profit is what drives markets.

A more specific protest is always more effective. Hence the "End The Fed" protests. They leave very little room for the media to spin things, and that is why you are not hearing more about it on major news networks.

Lest we forget the reports of the OWS movement being completely undermined by democratic interests, and supposedly funded by George Soros in part.. There have been craigslist ads offering to pay for protesters' involvement, so I read at least...

Yea, a certain person mentioned above who posted a few posts up from mine here, spends every second of his existence trying to dig up silly little isolated moments out of the TONS of folks in the Occupy movements across the country.

Its the stuff that SNAKES or SHILLS do here to make the Movement look negative.

The same tactics used in the past by those same types of people who were against the RIGHTS for women and minorities. Same type of DEVILS with the same tactics, just now in modern day...

[color=gold]The average hard working and decent citizens in this country are SICK of the NONSENSE going on in this country and realize and appreciate just how beneficial these movements are to us and our children and their children.... We want our country BACK!!!

The SNAKES want the madness in this country to continue... business as usual that leads us DOWN the DRAIN...

They are afraid that their life of cheating, scamming. and bankrupting this country for their own personal GREEDY gain will come to an end. Notice, the SNAKES and SHILLS have been out in full force lately.

They are afraid...

They should get a REAL JOB. Oh wait, they are the 1% who WATCH US DO ALL THEIR WORK, while they WHINE about everything and spew propaganda against We The People voicing our DISPLEASURE of our country going DOWN the DRAIN by them.

The very people who are RUINING our CHILDREN and GRAND-CHILDREN'S future.

Great. Either pick on Neo, or ignore the facts.

Facts.
Between the rapes, drug usage, violence, empty rhetoric; what else has OWS done?
They protest the banks influencing politicians, but ignore the unons doing the same thing.
They have garnered support from anti-capitalist, socialist, communist, anarchist groups.

But go on and pick on individuals who pointed out the flaws in this "occupation".

I'm willing to be most of the protesters don't give a flying fart about George Soros, if they even know who he is. And as soon as the protests started, i knew that some would try to connect Soros it. Glen Beck probably has a full team working on it as I type.

Surely there must be a link somewhere!!

What did OWS do to you Beezzer?

Nothing... While the banks made your money worth less while making Americans pay for
their initial success and also their failure.

Your beef with OWS is irrational

Thank You TupacShakur. Lol its funny typing that.

Some ATSer's seem to forget the very reason this movement started. It started because our government hasn't brought Justice to the people at fault. The people at fault are within our Government's halls in collusion with Corporations that put profit over people. What do we have in the end. A Government that runs like a business.

A business only works for their own interest. Our Founding Father's created our government to work for The People and to be as small a governing body as possible. In 2011, we have a GIANT Federal Government that doesn't care about the public opinion. They do as they please because for the last 50 years we haven't done anything about it. OWS is action towards these Injustices. People are taking to the streets and finally getting in our governments face and telling them they are wrong. Yes, Wall Street is partially our government considering our politicians adhere to their wishes. The only fault I see is that Occupy needs to focus on the Federal Reserve, Washington DC, AND Wall Street. These are the culprits.

Can anyone here at ATS actually side with the Federal Reserve? Can anyone here actually side with D.C.? Can anyone here actually side with the bankers on Wall Street that destroyed this economy with aid from the Federal Reserve and D.C.? If so I question honestly question your American citizenship if all you can do is find small reasons to hate on the Occupy Movement.

As much as I condemn violence. My biggest question is if the Occupy Movement continues to be completely ignored when is our military going to do its job. Which is protect this country from enemies foreign and domestic. Obviously, now is the time to employ the 1st Amendment in full force. Its being ignored. So, when is the 2nd Amendment finally applicable? Our Founding Fathers structured the Bill of Rights in the order it is on purpose. Each Amendment is a Wall set up against tyranny.

Think about it. Look up the Bill of Rights and by your best judgment imagine if our government started a "take over" of some sort. The first way to defend it is with our voice. The next way to defend it is by threat and use of arms. The next one would be if Martial Law is employed. Soldiers/Police cannot be quartered in our homes. Right of search and seizure is next which means if they started going door to door trying to take away our guns we have every right to blow away the Nazi that knocks on our door. Once people wake up, which they already are thanks to OWS, their will be few of these Nazi clowns left and we will outnumber them ten fold. They are all still American and have learned American principles.

Eventually, a large majority of them will realize what they are doing is wrong. Beating a few protesters is still in their mind as "doing their job". Once they start policing American citizens as if they are an enemy our Police will wake up. There is too much information out there already predicting such events. One way or another "the resistance" will gain many Police and Armed Forces once they see how they are being exploited.

I'll say it again. Our Government is playing 20th Century politics in the 21st Century aka The Information Age. All their actions of the last decade(2001-2011) have made them so transparent that its actually humorous to watch the MSM attempt to brainwash us.

I won't continue anymore but I think you may get what I'm saying. The Bill of Rights was so far ahead of its time its insane to fathom the foresight our Founding Father's possessed.
