I have never understood the reasoning of socialists...this ows thing is also beyond reason....don't these persons know that their very livelihood depends on the generosity of those people who work. Yes I said generosity because the monies stolen from them can not be taken by force by the government but the monies have to be given. if the working class decided not to give the money to the government the government would have no choice but to take it by force.....your long prayed for class war would then begin...those who leach off of the government demanding that they be given the same thing that those who paid for the government have.
Several times the word 'equality' has come up...ows demanding equality....ok ows you can have equality when you earn as much as I do we will be equal and if you then want to give yours away fine...You will never be equal by stealing from someone else you are just a thief. Oh but it ows says they are not stealing from those who have to give to those who have not ...they are trying to make government do it or them relieving their guilt and pretending to be the helpless injured party when they are just extortionists and thieves. the ows do not want to better themselves they want the working class to be lowered to their level...just like Kennedy said, and Kruschev...they would beat us from within...well comrad ows you have started something is going to explode in your face...Like many people my age..I would rather see this country burned to the ground than given to the communists and socialists...it has gone too far already, we have given you the rope you could have used to pull yourself up or hang yourself. You chose to demand that working people support you,.to each according to their needs.
Well I need something...I need freedom, I need to live without government intervention in my life...this to me is worth more than a free meal stolen from the rich...it means more than my home I worked thirty years for.or my cars or the computer I'm writing on, freedom means more to me than the lives of all the ows people trying to change my life...I don't want change unless it is back to the freedoms I was born with.

I hope that your ows does well and spreads through the country...I do not recommend trying to occupy North Alabama though, the police will not treat you with kid gloves, they will loose the hounds on you and you will just disappear. Some will say oh that is so extreme....I say it is not as extreme as demanding the end of capitalism in favor communism...the communists are not our friends.....the chinese do own this country yet and I do not belong to the state.
In closing I would like to say that I served in viet nam and came home and like many protested thhe war with my hippie freak friends, because the war was wrong and I had earned the right to protest it. I have lived long enough to see John kennedy in Houston the day before he died, I have seen man go to the moon , saw the Beatles in 65 and even saw Elvis, before the aliens got him I will die before I see this country turned over to the thieving socialists.

I know the terms socialist and communist are exclusively interchangeable but the sake of this discussion they are close enough, there is no lesser of two evils between them.

Take 'em down and it matters nary a bit who controls 'em.

You need to adjust your aim.

Do you want us to provide a list of the true owners for you?

What exactly is your objection here?

Why has the Good Lord been invoked upon LightAssasin?

Because the tea party folks are a bunch of hypocrites. They try to differentiate between government and wall street when the two are intrinsically linked by common goals and interests. There is absolutely no reason to be against OWS unless you belong to the 1% or are a paid shill.

I suspect we have many paid shills. I used to be annoyed by their presence but alas they make my ATS experience less boring. If everyone agreed all the time it would not be fun!

No, I am not as you say the 1%. I am typical middle class. Does the financial industry need some regulatory reform and oversight? Yes.

Does the government owe you a free college education, free health care and free "whatever else you want"? No.

That's where the OWS movement lost me.

Seriously, OP, that's all you've got? I know you usually fight the good fight here but to capitulate like this is a bit going too far. Not to offend, but this thread is as suspicious in its message of "failure" as was Bush on that aircraft carrier with his message of "victory". Maybe the wording is off or I have missed some intricate point?

For you that applaud any silencing of the 99%:

The politician's only job in government is to use fear, intimidation and violence to take money from the middle and poor then giving it to their billionaire masters in Wall Street and the Fed; the OWS and Occupy the World movement will only grow and reach critical mass. See any plans from the ones in government to benefit the lower classes? Nothing. All for the ultra rich. Tax loopholes, tax giveaways, bailouts and fresh meat from lower classes as soldiers for their war of death and plunder effectively stealing the resources of other nations for the benefit of the elite.

No, the Fed owns the banks. You need to understand Central banking. They control the flow of money. They cause, by direct action, the down and upward swings in the markets and literally cause depressions by a mere wave of the hand.

Change the Central banking system, destroy the idea of it, LIKE AMERICAS FOREFATHERS DID, and you cut the loan shark out completely.

Do you also plan to protest the people who have been receiving government aid as those responsible for the problem? Entitlements are the single largest component of the federal budget, with close to $9T spent on poverty programs alone in the last few decades. Lay on top of that social security, medicare and medicaid and you have the reasons for the countries fiscal difficulties. You would not welcome a Wall Street banker who just received a multi-million dollar bonus in your midst - he's part of the problem. Why would you welcome an unwed mother with three children to the party? She is as much, if not more of a problem. In aggregate with her peers, she is a much larger part of the problem

Instead, the OWS crowd actually wants more. 50% of the people in the country pay no taxes and yet they want more from those who do?

Time to look in a mirror for these folks. Time to turn the cable TV off, put the x-box controllers on the coffee table, time to put their $200 Air Jordans on, have a glass of juice paid for with food stamps, all paid for by government spiff of some sort and take a look in the mirror to see what the problem really is.

Oh, don't you worry my good friend. We know the culprits but we have to sabotage their machine. OWS needs to re-assemble into a proper movement against the PRIVATELY OWNED CENTRAL BANKING SYSTEM dictating the public currency of the Worlds largest economy.

"Most Americans have no real understanding of the operation of the international money lenders. The accounts of the Federal Reserve System have never been audited. It operates outside the control of Congress and manipulates the credit of the United States."
-Sen. Barry Goldwater

It is well that the people of the nation do not understand our banking and monetary system, for if they did, I believe there would be a revolution before tomorrow morning."
-Henry Ford

"The regional Federal Reserve banks are not government agencies. ...but are independent, privately owned and locally controlled corporations."
-Lewis vs. United States, 680 F. 2d 1239 9th Circuit 1982

"The Federal Reserve banks are one of the most corrupt institutions the world has ever seen. There is not a man within the sound of my voice who does not know that this nation is run by the International bankers."
-Congressman Louis T. McFadden

“The real truth of the matter is, as you and I know, that a financial element in the large centers has owned the government of the U.S. since the days of Andrew Jackson.”
-Franklin Delano Roosevelt

"As soon as Mr. Roosevelt took office, the Federal Reserve began to buy government securities at the rate of ten million dollars a week for 10 weeks, and created one hundred million dollars in new [checkbook] currency, which alleviated the critical famine of money and credit, and the factories started hiring people again."
-Eustace Mullins

"This [Federal Reserve Act] establishes the most gigantic trust on earth. When the President [Wilson] signs this bill, the invisible government of the monetary power will be legalized....the worst legislative crime of the ages is perpetrated by this banking and currency bill."
-Charles A. Lindbergh, Sr. , 1913

"When you or I write a check there must be sufficient funds in our account to cover the check, but when the Federal Reserve writes a check there is no bank deposit on which that check is drawn. When the Federal Reserve writes a check, it is creating money."
-Putting it simply, Boston Federal Reserve Bank

"We have, in this country, one of the most corrupt institutions the world has ever known. I refer to the Federal Reserve Board. This evil institution has impoverished the people of the United States and has practically bankrupted our government. It has done this through the corrupt practices of the moneyed vultures who control it."
-Congressman Louis T. McFadden in 1932

“The few who understand the system, will either be so interested from it’s profits or so dependent on it’s favors, that there will be no opposition from that class.”
-Rothschild Brothers of London, 1863

"While boasting of our noble deeds were careful to conceal the ugly fact that by an iniquitous money system we have nationalized a system of oppression which, though more refined, is not less cruel than the old system of chattel slavery."
-Horace Greeley

"The Federal Reserve bank buys government bonds without one penny..."
-Congressman Wright Patman, Congressional Record, Sept 30, 1941

"...the increase in the assets of the Federal Reserve banks from 143 million dollars in 1913 to 45 billion dollars in 1949 went directly to the private stockholders of the [federal reserve] banks."
-Eustace Mullins

"The financial system has been turned over to the Federal Reserve Board. That Board administers the finance system by authority of a purely profiteering group. The system is Private, conducted for the sole purpose of obtaining the greatest possible profits from the use of other people's money"
-Charles A. Lindbergh Sr., 1923

"Bankers own the earth. Take it away from them, but leave them the power to create money and control credit, and with a flick of a pen they will create enough to buy it back."
-Sir Josiah Stamp, former President, Bank of England

"All the perplexities, confusion and distress in America arise, not from defects in their Constitution or Confederation, not from want of honor or virtue, so much as from the downright ignorance of the nature of coin, credit and circulation."
-John Adams

"Whoever controls the volume of money in any country is absolute master of all industry and commerce."
-James A. Garfield, President of the United States

"A great industrial nation is controlled by it's system of credit. Our system of credit is concentrated in the hands of a few men. We have come to be one of the worst ruled, one of the most completely controlled and dominated governments in the world--no longer a government of free opinion, no longer a government by conviction and vote of the majority, but a government by the opinion and duress of small groups of dominant men."
-President Woodrow Wilson

"History records that the money changers have used every form of abuse, intrigue, deceit, and violent means possible to maintain their control over governments by controlling money and it's issuance."
-James Madison

"I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. Already they have raised up a monied aristocracy that has set the government at defiance. The issuing power (of money) should be taken away from the banks and restored to the people to whom it properly belongs."
-Thomas Jefferson

“The money powers prey upon the nation in times of peace and conspire against it in times of adversity. It is more despotic than a monarchy, more insolent than autocracy, and more selfish than bureaucracy. It denounces as public enemies all who question its methods or throw light upon its crimes. I have two great enemies, the Southern Army in front of me and the bankers in the rear. Of the two, the one at my rear is my greatest foe.”
-Abraham Lincoln

"Give me control of a nation's money and I care not who makes it's laws" -Mayer Amschel Bauer Rothschild

[size=10]

"The central bank is an institution of the most deadly hostility existing against the Principles and form of our Constitution. I am an Enemy to all banks discounting bills or notes for anything but Coin. If the American People allow private banks to control the issuance of their currency, first by inflation and then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the People of all their Property until their Children will wake up homeless on the continent their Fathers conquered." long time lurker, had to comment on this.......about OWS....
dont look now, but, GADDAFI IS DEAD.
you didnt notice,
you were protesting, or watching the train wreck called OWS on screen.

Gaddafi and Osamas deaths were occult rituals and the dates of death coincide astrologically with their calendar.

America, you've been fleeced. There is nothing going on in the world today by accident.

heres a repost of Silent Weapons for Quiet Wars. Highly recommended.

OWS=Shock Test.

Rational, critically thinking individuals knew better than to participate in an energy ritual, because the game being played has a dominant strategy. I DONT PLAY RIGGED GAMES.

Only NON COMPLIANCE, CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE, and DIRECT ACTION work here.

and when the going gets tuff, and it will come to a ground war, the tuff get goin. We wont shoot till we see the whites of their EVIL EYES.

bring equality to this nation?

That is the problem. Equality is not "brought to anyone". You are equal only in your "Rights" and your standing in the courts. You alone are responsible for your persuit of happiness. You are supposed to earn your wealth.

Banks issue money but under capitalism it ALWAYS finds its way to the top 1%.

Banks do not issue money. The government issues money. Banks get their money from their customers who deposit the money they earned into the bank. The banks can then use those deposits to issue loans.

The government needs money to run a nation and people need money to live. Where will that money come from if not redistribution OR BORROWING?

The government gets their money by taxing the people who have jobs or spend money. The people get money from their employers in exchange for their work. Companies earn their money when they sell goods and services to their customers. Those customers in turn earn their money eaither as an employee or in exchange for other goods and services.

You are not smart enough to criticise OWS!

You are don't know how the system works nor smart enough to understand the same if someone explained it to you. That is why you are with the OWS dumbells.

NEVER has the government existed to supply you with someone else's money. YOU are supposed to be supplying the government with its operating capital from what you earn. The government is in trouble because it spends more money than it can reasonably tax from the people.

Get an education, as job, and a bath.

If America goes under no one is going to lend you a helping hand unless they want something of great importance from you.

Yes, we were fools from bailing everyone out from under the tyrants of two world wars, weren't we? Next time we'll provide munitions to Germany and Japan (or whomever) and settle back with some popcorn.

Roll your eyes as much as you like it is the central banking system that allowed this to happen. You need to remove the privatisation of it. How can a private organisation be allowed LEND a country its currency. I posted all the quotes from history regarding central banking. Have a read. Those people weren't stupid or ignorant, an image todays generation likes to portray.

Hell, most of the people in the United States THINKS THE FEDERAL RESERVE IS GOVERNMENT OWNED.

Wasn't one of the first audits EVER done completed recently by Ron Paul? It's been established since 1913 and has been audited how many times?

Don't get me wrong. Wealth redistribution needs to happen too. The pieces of the pie need to be more evenly spread but when you start discussing wealth redistribution you start going towards socialism, which is really good if applied properly (Look at Libyas green book minus the chequered history of Gaddafi himself) and IF the general cost of everything went down, and you DIDN'T have to pay for things like education and health care, then you'd have a bit more money to spend on luxuries although a line needs to be drawn because some people have worked really hard to get into a position of great earning potential and some work is far more highly specialized than other.

Ultimately, bring down the PRIVATE Central banking system, return the gold standard (or a resource backed currency), then place controls over earning potentials in the banking and financing sector along with caps on earning profits which, going beyond the capped profits, get redistributed back to its members, which is what needs to happen to achieve what OWS is protesting.

Actually, thinking about it, you need to overthrow your government too to achieve the above, because it would need to be a national law. Either way OWS is going to fail until they recognise the real solutions to the problems.
