Latest news about the Shuttles:

NOTE TO EDITORS: N04-129

LATEST UPDATE TO SHUTTLE IMPLEMENTATION PLAN AVAILABLE AUG.
30

The latest version of "NASA's Implementation Plan for
Space Shuttle Return to Flight and Beyond" will be released
publicly Monday Aug. 30.

The updated plan will be available at 11 a.m. EDT on NASA's
Return to Flight Internet web site at:

www.nasa.gov...

The latest version, Volume 1, Revision 2.2, includes updates
to several key Columbia Accident Investigation Board (CAIB)
recommendations. It also documents the conditional closeout
of two more of the 15 CAIB Return to Flight recommendations.
That brings the total number of closed Return to Flight
recommendations to five.

The implementation plan is a periodically updated document.
It demonstrates the agency's progress in safely returning
Space Shuttles to flight and implementing the recommendations
of the CAIB.

Pervious versions of the plan also are archived on NASA's
Return to Flight web site.
