The hamburger is undoubtedly the signature fast food item, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get a nice, gourmet hamburger. Are you willing to part with $5,000 for one, though? Renowned chef Hubert Keller thinks you might be. His FleurBurger 5000, named no doubt for its price tag, is the most expensive hamburger in the world.

To eat one of this every day.Didn't we humans make some mistakes recent years and now we have to pay a big price for our mistakes. Why we are always exaggerating?

TextSo how do you rationalize a five grand price tag for a hamburger? Well, you could start with the fact that the burger itself is made of Kobe beef. You could, then, move on to the foie gras—that’s duck or goose liver—and black truffles with which the burger is topped. You could even point out that the burger is served on a brioche truffle bun and is garnished with a sauce containing even more truffles. Then again, it could be the bottle of Chateau Pétrus 1990 and Ichendorf Brunello stemware, specially imported from Italy, that you get to take home. That may just be what makes the FleurBurger 5000 the world’s most expensive hamburger. The FleurBurger is available at Fleur de Lys, a traditional French restaurant located in Las Vegas’ Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. They’ll even mail a certificate to your home just to prove that you ate the world’s most expensive hamburger.

I think that even if a person has enough money to pay $5,000.00 for a hamburger...it is a waste of money. Really...the price tag is ridiculous!

Anyone who can afford that price should think twice....and donate the money instead to feed some of the starving people in this world.

I spent 50 bucks on a burger once, thinking "screw it, I'll spend a little extra to try something nice".

And no doubt, the burger was nice, but there was this empty feeling in my stomach after, one in the shape of 'you just spent 50 bucks on a burger"...

Caladonea, always with her grounding posts bringing us back into reality, thank you....
you are absolutely right about that damn thing, and what our money should really go towards instead of wasting it on rich man foods. this is one of the stupidest ideas yet, a 5k burger..

the chef should have renamed it the 1%'er. and ya know what, I didn't even see cheese on this damn thing, how cheap is that. I bet it's real tasty though, with a big slice of cheap @$$ amerikan cheese on it.

ETA: just thought I would throw in a little fun fact about the wine that comes with the burger. It certainly is not the burger that makes up most of the price. I guess 1990 Chateau Petrus is a very sought after wine. www.winecommune.com...!/lotID/2295327.html check this out..........

The following is my opinion as a member participating in this discussion.

On the other hand, a person on the wait staff ought to pull in a $1000 tip for delivering it to the table, so that's not all bad.

As an ATS Staff Member, I will not moderate in threads such as this where I have participated as a member.

Go for it. Bear in mind, the $5k burger probably doesn't get ordered much. In the meantime, you'll put up with a lot of touristy nonsense from rubes in Vegas looking to be pampered and comped.

Kobe Beef comes from Japan if I remember right. I suspect that the beef may glow in the dark a bit. So I truly hope they sell the bloody heck out of it. Heck I might even be willing to put that deal on Groupon!

I saw Paris Hilton order a $2,000 banana split on some stupid tv show. I watched as I put all energy into hoping she would choke to death on it.

Something is seriously wrong with this world. BLADERUNNER
