Basically.
Sticking any kind of charge, especially one associated with violence dishonesty or both is a classic tactic to smear someone and make the mainstream
media, compliant as always, follow the lead and either ignore them or torture them in the press.
Of course many people also just break the law, whatever else they may have going for them.
