Hello all

I was just wondering since I can't remember there ever being a night where the moon just wasn't there. I've been watching the moon for past few weeks and I usually start to see it in the sky around 4PM(still sunny), and it illuminates the night till about 1AM or so. But tonight November 15, 2011 the moon is nowhere to be found in the sky. Crystal clear skies and I can see the little dipper right above my house.

If anyone could explain if this is normal or not I'd really appreciate it.

yes im sure its normal. do you think it might have dissapeared?
im sure you could check one of those stellarium sites to see where it should be.

Good Evening... I think you may have your answer already, but typically, the moon rises about one hour later every night. As it goes through its 28 day cycle, the phases also change from crescent to full and back to crescent... and eventually a new moon.

I suggest, as always, a good Farmer's Almanac... a good one gives times for moon rise and set, sun rise and sets, and tides... and a host of other info that will prove valuable.

It seems you have stumbled upon the reptillian plot to steal away the moon. You know too much.

I am holding your moon for ransom. Unless my demands are met, your moon will suffer horribly, as I turn it into moon pies to sell to red necks who will wash it down with moon shine.

Thanks for making me run out to look though. It was a fantastic night here say around 7`ish to watch many satellites go over.
So now I expected to see like stars a possible moon and maybe even the unknown (UFO) but nothing although my always there tiny traveling star like lights were, and they are starting to driving me a tad crazy.
We clouded over here is what I`m trying to say..

I live in northwest iillinois. The moon was out all day long, fully visible. I work outside and saw it from morning through afternoon.
