Shame I don't see any wording (at least when skimming) to the effect that they can't enact legislation or work with regulation that may affect the value of stock which they already own. Insider info is one thing, but when you can still change the rules of the game being played, they essentially get to make a "Calvinball" farce of the marketplace environment. You really don't need much insider information to buy stock in a company and then rig things to favor that company when you're the one writing the laws.

So even though they may be limited on doing things with insider information if this somehow does pass, it still doesn't mean that they wont be getting away with business as usual.

Need to make it illegal for government employees in certain positions to have any direct personal motives in rigging the market via regulatory enforcement (or lack thereof), rulings/proceedings, or legislation, and perhaps then we'll get somewhere.
