Does anyone know if there is any relation between the two?
I understand one is more political and the other is criminal. However, I am looking for a tie between the two to determine if there are any reports
of them working together or similar beliefs.

from the little i know i don't see them getting along at all. the russian mafia is still russian, i couldn't see them being ok with chechen's
wanting to kill there kind.

I doubt Russian Mafia would have interests in Checnya. On the other hand, drug trafficking has no borders or nationalities, so who knows.
I know that there are turf wars in Moscow between Russian organized crime and other ethnic criminal groups.
