And The Children Still Cry

Comes a great mounted army; Hear it beat through the night.
It hides not its advance casting fear, bringing vice.
A great thunderous evil, becomes death as it rides.
And the children of Carthage cry.

Mao lifts up his hand, and with a spear thrusts them through.
Millions now vanish through one selfish mans rule.
And as a north kingdom grows, the horse continues its ride.
A vast slaughter has come, and the children still cry.

Comes a single great war, but now the weapons have grown.
They hide not their sound, and cast a fear of their own.
See the land become death, as weapons fall from the sky.
All the fathers have vanished, and the children still cry.

Comes yet another great war, but it will not be the last,
Though it ended in sorrow from one single great blast.
And while we claimed to have learned that great lesson of time,
More fathers have passed, and the children still cry.

There is no greater love than a man lay down his life.
But no peace or forgiveness is found as he dies.
There is only one place to find peace in this life.
In the hearts of the children, as the children all cry.

Now if peace is to come, and man is to survive.
There is only one way to reconcile all the crime.
We must undo what we've done through the eons of time;
To know the hearts of our children,
And understand why they cry.
