I know a LOT of ATSers support Ron Paul... shame he'll never win, but there you go...

Of the people who have a REAL chance you're basically left with a bunch of war-mongers:

ROMNEY: Obama Re-Election Spells Nuclear Iran...
hosted.ap.org...

Gingrich backs war...
www.cbsnews.com...

And on and on...

What about Obama?

While I'm NOT an Obama fan (I'm an actual Liberal) I'd say this pretty much sums what Israel thinks of him:
www.telegraph.co.uk...

"Supporting" Israel is gonna lead to another war... that's what all but one (unelectable) Republican want. Vote Republican, get another war.

Vote Obama, and there's a small chance the US will stay out of this.

And no, I'm not a shill, just someone who's calling it like I see it.

Everywhere I go, people are still talking Republican/Democrat. All while complaining about the economy, crooked politicians and endless war.

It's like complaining about how you keep getting cavities and then trying to decide what soft drink you should get this week, coke or pepsi.

I just don't understand our people. I observe and study, but still, you're all a goddamn mystery.

Politicians as a whole are parasitic!
They rarely reflect or act upon the electorates wishes.
If war is on the agenda of TPTB, it dont matter who is POTUS, they will tow the line.

Why not vote for the small parties?

If the small parties are not getting enough attention then why not complain?

I know of seven officially registered parties yet the two big ones(and most corrupt) keep getting 98% of the total vote. Clearly something is wrong here. It is a lack of financial transparency by the rats and boobs who share the loot from big business via the first amendment. Remember the boobs said they support any version of freedom of speech?

Sorry for being cynical but I see no other way to get my point across.

When will enough corruption be enough corruption? And why is everyone ignorant and/or complacent in crime???

Obama has us fighting 4 different countries: Afghanistan, Pakistan, Libya, and Iraq. We're starting a surge in Yemen, and we've sent armed escorts to Uganda. We'll likely be joining a big party in Syria soon. And yet you truly think Obama will stay out of another chance to murder people? Seriously?

If Repubs want war as the OP claims it's only because peace is not an option when it comes to the enemy.
Basically for every weapon we lay down there is no way in hell the Op, Obama or anyone else can guarantee the enemy will do the same.

Think about it.

Who controls the money? Who has accumulated the most assets? Don't just look in forbes magazine, look elsewhere..........

With money comes power via bribery, bribery to write laws that benefit the parasites over the hard workers.

Capitalism means to capitalise. To take advantage of something for your benefit. No one starts a business to lose or break even. The problem with this mentality is that while SOME WORK to achieve a better future for themselves and their offspring, the old money folks "invest" in future slavery of the human species.

Think about it and go back to the root meaning of words to avoid possible confusion. The parasites(better word than PTB and I would appreciate if everyone used the first word from now on) use congress(the opposite of progress) to achieve dominion of over you. So now we have to fight the parasites AND GOVERNMENT!

This is the REAL illusion.

Do you think Gore would've invaded Iraq? Would Gore have put all the neo-cons in power?

It's a childish attitude to think ALL politicians and ALL parties are the same, because then you can simply dismiss everything instead of having to take the time to think critically.

Dennis Kucinich != Dick Cheney.

No amount of silly YouTube videos will make them the same, ideologically.

Ron Paul, the Republican != Barney Frank, the Democrat.

There is this misconception that Obama hasn't done much for Israel.
Obama's latest gift to Israel

Actually READ what he has done. This article is about a year old, and Obama had done more for Israel than any other president. Imagine that. Israel apparently cannot be pleased.

The manufactured image of the president is meant to delude. Like the image of an actor or actress, the persona has nothing to do with the person. He is, was, and will always be a puppet. It doesn't mean they ALL are.

And I disagree, Ron Paul has a chance. It is up to us.

Anytime a conservative gets cornered by the truth, their last recourse is exactly "both parties are the same".

Then they get pissed by labels as though it is disgraceful to admit you are a republican. If that is the case then how come Ron "the messiah" Paul has no quarrels with running on their ticket? Either Ron "the messiah" Paul is a dellusional hypocrite or more likely it is the convenient double standard. The guy is much closer to being a libertarian btw for those clueless idiots.

absolutely... this is why I Ask the Gore question to these guys... it's simply a cop out to claim the parties are the same... now, you may not like EITHER, and they may both be stocked with idiots and crooks, but that != similar policies or track records.

Why is Ron Paul unelectable? I mean a lot of people thought Obama was unelectable, he got voted in though because he said he would end the wars and fix the economy. He failed to deliver however, in fact fell face first on one of those issues. Very few people want to continue the war(s) in the middle east, as Paul has said before the Peace candidate always has a good shot.

Ron Paul is unelectable because, as has been stated repeatedly,. he's running for the nomination of a party that doesn't really like or agree with him. No one disagrees that Obama is a Democrat. A LOT of Paul's supporters claim he's not REALLY a Republican. That kinda sums up why Paul is unelectable.

You are soooooooo right! The constant rant by republicans, that dems & repubs are the same, is a reflection of the fact that they've been caught knee deep in corruption and in their attempt to justify their position, they try paint their opposition in the same light. Every time they get caught distorting the truth or just flat out lying, they turn around and say something like; "yeah I did it, but look at what he did." Reminds me of an argument that might be posed by someone with a third grade mentality.

While I agree that regardless of what political affiliation a POTUS has, he will inevitably find out that there are powerful people who are not going to allow him/her to accomplish all of their stated goals, like closing GITMO for instance. But to say that both parties are one in the same is a far stretch of the truth. Even though some things may be beyond the President's ability to change doesn't mean that one political party won't steer this nation in a completely different direction than another.

I am for PEACE, but when we must fight I believe that we should be smart about it and so far President Obama has clearly demonstrated that when it comes to accomplishing military goals at the least possible expense to America, both in terms of national treasure and lives lost, he is by far the hands-down winner.

But then, I'm not a republican either.
