He thinks that Osama and AQ attacked the US because of bases in Saudi Arabia. The man hasn't done his homework. Osama and AQ were engaged in combat
with anyone who would stand in the way of Osama's dream of becoming a Caliph in a new Islamic Empire.
That has and will always be the goal of Islamic extremists.
My problem with the way he views war policy is that he would wait until the threat was right at our doorstep before acting. I believe this is a
mistake, and we have seen the results of this kind of thinking in Pre-WW2 Europe. The whole notion of "hands off" global politics is simply flawed.
That said, there are foreign policy issues where we do need a change. Like funding countries like Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Israel.
Israel may be an ally. But doing anything but selling them weapons is a waste of taxpayer money and should not be allowed.
