Reports of AK 47 or Machine Gun being fired at/near White House 9:40 est between 15th & 17th street

hey all - getting several reports from twitter shots were fired at the white house. initial facts are sketchy but it seems the man had Idaho plates, fired around 5 shots, and there have been witnesses and news crews are going on scene. Please keep eye on it and anyone from DC keep us updated. I'll be keeping people updated

Suspects still at large. People, if you have relatives in the area please warn them and check on their safe being. Last i saw suspect was on foot around 23rd street in a police chase

Shots reportedly fired near White House

Law enforcement authorities in Washington were investigating a report late Friday that gunshots had been fired near the White House.
Apparently the area involved is south of the Executive Mansion, possibly between the Ellipse and the Washington Monument.

Gun was found now they are looking for a possible second vehicle

Probably just some idiot in a drug fueled rage. People take potshots at the White House every few years, it happened a couple of times under Clinton. People also regularly jump the fence.

I think that we will be hearing more stories like this in the future. Many, many people are very angry...November of 2012 and even before that...when the campaigning for President is going on....I think that there is going to be a lot more of this sort of thing happening.
