If these protesters come forward with shields made of wood and clubs, then the police will be absolutely justified in grabbing sawed-off shotguns. This is classic escalation. Buckshot tends to shred wood quite nicely. The most effective street cleaner in an egalitarian society is indeed a shotgun.

Why would they bother setting off bombs? Occupy would have no reason to bomb anything; it is a peaceful movement. The state guard can be brought to the streets at the governor's request and doesn't need bombs to do it. They could just wait out the protesters. Only the homeless will remain after a few cold spells and soon everyone will be in shelters. I see Occupy Miami or Occupy San Diego being far more popular than Occupy Fargo or Occupy Buffalo for the winter.

In order to be a tax payer one has to either have a job or own property...

Many of these squatter have neither. How are most of the these people who claim to live in the park going to accomplish anything other than causing a health and safety issue?

Take it to Washington DC, Go after the FED and those corrupt politician that bailed out those banks.

There are many people in the Oakland Commune who had a job and went on strike. As you don,t seem to know, there is an ongoing general strike.

What do you mean by the "taxpayers", the sheeple who get robbed by the IRS and the Fed?

Go ahead and take it to Washington D.C. and go after the FED, sir. Go head first. If you think you can stand up to hordes of highly-corrupt judges, lawmakers and ultra-violent policemen who completely disregard your rights... well perhaps you indeed have superpowers, who knows?

The Occupy movement, as far as I understand, seeks to empower people against the mafia-like corporate tyranny that destroyed your America years ago.

TPTB can set off bombs which would be blamed on Occupy as an excuse to bring troops to the streets. TPTB what to bring about change, the most effective way to bring about change is through war and violence. This is why the bankers funded both sides in WWI and WWII, they create wars so as they can shape the world. Now the bankers want to make big changes in America, that is why they have set up OCCUPY, that is what it is being used for, 99% of the people in OCCUPY do not know what this is being used for. If the Banksters make it seem like Grass Roots, it's all far more believeable.

If the Bankers bring troops to the street in a time of peace, they will look bad, we will be against them, so the best way for them to achieve their goal is to make it seem like the troops are needed to defend the country. OCCUPY will be used as an excuse

This is obvious military tactics being employed by the state police. Subverting a movent starts by demonizing it, inciting an event, and then responding with excessive force.

If the 'battle' is to be won, protesters need to remain peaceful and stay out of the penalty box. So when the police come DONT RESIST. Scatter and flee, and then regroup. Don't get baited into a physical confrontation. If you become violent you will only be feeding the trolls and justifying more force. The movement should start ARRESTING some of these so-called 'anarchists' that become violent (window breaking, rock throwing, etc) to prove that they are a peaceful movement. And it will probably turn out that most of these violent anarchists are working for the police anyway. That would make a great headline: "four police arrested by protesters".

Also, this movement needs to start its own society in order to make such actions "legal". Stop criticizing the system and build a better one.

By the way, it is not Occupy who would set off the bombs. It's along the lines of the bombs we see in Iraq, Afghan etc, where they are actually set off by the secret services, then blamed on the natives. This gives the impression that troops, martial law etc are justified. Smoke & Mirrors

You take it to Washington by calling and writing to your representatives. You put things on ballots [although Occupy is so diffuse they will be lucky to get enough people to agree on one point to start a petition.] You campaign for those representatives who espouse your cause and against those who oppose it. Making shields and digging foxholes will do nothing to change what is wrong.

Being on the fence.

Union involvement and outright calls for Socialism by some members is starting to sour my milk. I'll still say...

Take it to Washington DC. Go after the FED and the corrupt politicians who bailed out those banks in the first place.

People need to stop comparing OWS to the founders that is seriously pathetic, Real men with a real cause not recycled failed left wing ideology.

That is one of the most ridiculous comment i have ever read on here kill other Americans over what?

WHAT?

Americans kill Americans everyday and has become to be expected IMO... Yet you act like this is "news"

Our founders fought for what they believed in because they knew something was wrong and needed to change. Where exactly do you see a difference? The only one I see is the fact that the Businesses buy and sell our country and liberty everyday is out in the wide open for everyone to see now... and back then only the ones in the know really knew what was happening... Thanks to the www...

I dont understand what you are saying are you saying that you say you should only have a political voice in a democratic scoiety if you pay taxes.

I guess protesting may be a health and safety issue. Should that stop people from excersing they right to protest. Did it stop the people of Tunisia protesting...

You cannot justify not doing something because it is a health and safety issue.. Life is a health and saftey issue. Yet you choose to live...

All I heard was slander, I'd love to see OWS turn violent, it would be a a great sign of just how corrupted the law enforcement is.

I got that part of your plan. The problem would be convincing others that Occupy did it. They don't have access to explosives. The materials for IED's are not plentiful in Portland. The reason has to be convincing and consistent with the group at hand.

All one has to do is start a riot or two and in comes the Nat Guard; no bombs needed.

Yep! That's what the crooks are trying to do... all backed by posters on alternative forums like here, to support the slander campaigns against the movement.

But that ain't gonna work. We know these twisted tactics already. We know "TPTB" can set up a terrorist attack on NYC, kill thousands in the process to blame it on their Muslim extremist buddies so they have a reason to build up a Prison State to better control us by FEAR.

Western capitalism is at its last throes... like the Soviet Union in the '80s. No wonder why they also are colonizing Afghanistan.

They are trying everything to save that sinking boat, and even blaming the people jumping on the lifeboats (the Occupy movement).

You were the one who brought up tax payers. I provided my POV.

I have no issues with them exercising their right and protesting. However, I and quite a few others here feel they are barking up the wrong tree. Take it to DC!

When any potential health issues threatens the well being of the whole it needs to be addressed even if a minority wont see it that way

Well it's finally happening, people are starting to fall into their own demise with this whole occupy protest. It doesn't occur to anyone that this is what the fed needs to declare martial law, "violence." And those that promote violence is leading anyone down the wrong path.
In the end, those that listen to this kind of bad advise are still sheeple, you are being misled.

They still haven't woken up, they think the did, but they haven't they are still dreaming.
