And you don't see police crackdowns and government rhetoric as provocation against the protestors?

PS: I can't believe how many yankees are on here saying that it's such a disgrace to compare OWS to the founding fathers of American independence. It's clear that you don't even know what your own founding fathers stood for if you make such anti-democratic claims like that. I'm sure my British ancestors would have loved it too if American rebels would have just protest with signs within the designated lines instead of engaging in revolutionary action.

One more thing. Do you know what any violence at this or any other Occupy camp would precipitate? The other cities and states where this is happening will more then likely start to decide to shut down the rest of the camps before "violence" occurs. Then if there is more violence, watch how fast you help assist our country become a real police state.

Oh yea one last thing. Let me let you in on a little secret........

Police officers are part of the Working class of America you know your own 99%.

yea right.when911 happened the local cops were being paid 40$ an hour to stand around with a gun.
my family of three survives on 1100 $ a month. i bet there arent too many cops living off that salary.i was making 100000$ a year at my job in 2001 ,then the illegals came in ,drove down wages, drove up workmans comp because of their ignorance of safe working practices.bought up the old houses causing a housing bubble ,then got kicked out ,leaving the banks holding all the mortages.now we are all paying for it.the secret to success is when there is more jobs than people but the rich dont like competing in a fair market ,paying wages that the market will bare .they always try to cheat.thats why i refuse to work for millionaires.im not going to go broke while they get rich.let them sweat for their riches, ill stay home in poverty.rather than being a working poor.

The protestors aren't trying to 'take back the government'. They aren't respecting the Constitution one bit. This is nothing but an attempt to implement socialism as a form of government to the US.

Growing up I never imagined I would see people in the streets actually fighting for socialism.

And socialism is the only thing that is going to save your country. Too bad your population is conditioned to equate socialism to evil incarnate itself, which only foresakens them all to extreme wealth disparity while the rich laugh and suck down the caviar.

I actually went to Occupy Portland the other day and all it did was confirm my disgust in the entire movement. They're sitting around getting little to nothing accomplished. One of their signs said "6 reasonable proposals for congress", which I found a little asinine. They want such big change to happen with reasonable proposals? But since I love nature so much I think I might go back there to see the hippies in their natural habitat

They'll hide behind the freedoms the Constitution provides, in order to destroy it.

Right. That's why we still have all these slaves around. And if you scroll up a lil bit you'll see that you were the one who interjected the civil war into the topic... if you're going to try and use it to prop up your.. ideas... I'd expect you're going to get comments on it.

And I'm not labeling you a racist.. you've done that yourself... the sad part is you probably don't understand how.

Actually I could make all kinds of racial accusations against you. You've made that easy.

It's much more satisfying to me though that you've painted yourself with your own words

Meanwhile, back in the General Lee... Bo and Luke are going to jump the shark.

I know exactly what I said.. I know that I brought Civil War into the issue because that is what it is. Civil War.

We do not have Slavery anymore, because for one I would like to think we grew a bit as a society, secondly it would be because the aforementioned Emancipation Proclomation where Abraham Lincoln used the current situation to his advantage and proclaimed it to be part of the justification of the war. Wow are you actually a graduate from a high school?

I was going to ask you the same... but I was actually wondering if you made it out of grade school.

Again.. if you bring your ludicrous ideas to the table... don't weep when they're found ludicrous.

If you want to live in some alternate history fantasy land ... be my guest... just don't expect me to accept it.

Fiction =/= non-fiction. A concept you should investigate.

If you were in command, you would be handcuffed in the emergency room while being stitched up. Reality doesn't work like a videogame and there is no restart or pause button.

The Occupy folks have had their demonstration and now it is time to go. The 53% who pay taxes would like them to stop wasting resources. The Occupy folks should list their goals [if possible] and start collecting signatures for a ballot referendum instead of alienating the general population.

cant wait for the pictures of cops being held down in a large hole in the ground! its going to be hilarious, and justified!

And we can look to the ex-Soviet Union as a fine example of socialism saving a country. The party bosses eat salty fish eggs and the workers get cheap vodka to keep them quiet. Stalin was such a great leader.

It's time to go? According to whom?

Oh and non-ows supporters have no monopoly on paying taxes. They are usually the ones with the loop holes.

You have a lovely day.

Bad example for the sake of an anti-socialist agenda

Maybe if you wake up and look around you, you'll see that the US is quite alone in its anti-socialist policies among Western nations. It's pretty obvious as to why this is: because it benefits the elite in the US.

Personally, I am almost saddened when I see Americans claim that Obama is a socialist because he's been bailing out large corporations. That's not socialism, that's fascism. If he's such a socialist, then where is the bailout for the American people? Instead the US government is finding ways to cut social programs like welfare so it can maintain its military budget and pay bailouts to large corporations (that horde the money in offshore accounts).

If you think socialism is the enemy, then you must enjoy income disparity- the rich in mansions, and the poor on the streets; the rich will only get richer and the poor will only become more numerous.

Well it takes a special kind of stupid to think, 'Hey people with guns are coming, I know, why don't we crank out some makeshift weapons reminiscent of Captain Caveman'.

Nobody said anything about dying; just failure and a few stitches. Don't throw your life away for a nice euolgy. Why don't you plan on a long life of doing good in the world and changing it for the better?
