It's a good job the Turkish quake survivors have the full support of their government!

Riot police fired tear gas and used batons to disperse protesters angry at the state's relief efforts after the second earthquake in eastern Turkey in three weeks killed at least 12 people in the city of Van.

Amd OWS protestors complain....

Do I read this right? First they get hit by a fairly major earthquake, then protest at the lack of government resposnse due to being in the eastern and "poorer" part of the country, protest, and then get attacked by riot police? Damn! TPTB are the same all over.

Van is the seat of Turkey's Kurdish majority.. it also has a high Armenian population. Two ethnicity's Turkey has a history of ... well .. slaughtering.

But it sits on a huge fresh water reserve that Turkey sells to oil rich ME nations.

As long as the water is OK, Turkey really doesn't care what happens to them.
