I live in WA and luckily the only bugs we have to deal with are spiders in the house which is pretty rare and they usually keep to themselves and even though my sister is horrified by them (I'll tell ya the story later) we like our occasional Daddy Long Legs which are most of the few bugs that come in our house and they kill all the bad bugs so we just let them outside (I have a fondness for them even though they sometimes scare me when I'm half asleep in front of the TV and watch one crawl over my blanket LoL).
Anyways during the summer I woke up one morning alone in the house late in the morning, I felt a soreness on my arm and thought I slept on it wrong. Not until an hour later I realized I had a large red swollen golf ball sized lump on my bicep. There was no pimple or bite mark or even puss I believe in the lump. It seemed similar to accounts of brown recluse or black widow bites so I kept an eye on it. I tried to splice and or pop it by inserting a syringe into it twice but nothing came out except for hardly any serum or clear extracellular fluid. Eventually the lump turned hard and my family and I were thinking about getting it checked out at the doctor but I never felt sick or nauseous or even headachey. When the lump turned hard I did not feel any soreness or pain, it was just a large red hard lump. Eventually it went down and now I have this scar on my arm where I was bitten or whatever else may have happened to the area. I do take minocycline sometimes to keep my face nice and hawt for the ladies lol so maybe that's why it was slightly different then the other spider bites since it's an antibiotic.
But what is different than the usual spider bites are that they get pimples on their lumps followed by extreme sickness and then they eventually pop these lumps and a TON of puss comes out along with lines coming from the bump showing that the blood vessels around it are poisoned with necratoxins, then they either get a scar or most of the time they get severe necrosis and usually have to go straight to the hospital and either are left iwth a huge scar if they were able to save the skin and it's limb or after they pop it they're still sick and must get treatment and still end up with a scar.
Anyways I don't know if it was maybe a different bug or a milder spider bite that maybe didn't hit any veins even though it was close to one of my arteries, or something else. Maybe I should run a magnet over it or a stud finder? Has anbody that's been abducted have this sort of thing happen to them? I just wanna know what happened on my arm when I was asleep... I'll post some pictures. If anybody has some stories about anything like this could you please fill me in? I know this sounds like I should post it in the medical part of the forum but if any of you look at the cycle of spider bites my experience had only 50% of what they experienced. Anyways I'll see if I have the picture when I first got it but I'll show you all a picture of what it looks like now (the scar).

The reason why my sister is an arachnaphobe is because when she was 5 years old and eating a pop sickle outside in the summer she set it down for a moment and without looking put it back in her mouth when she heard a "CRUNCH" she spit the popsickle out but what also came out were 5 or 6 legs and other parts as well LoL.

Yeah I just finished taking them except I don't like the way they turned out because it really leaves out the detail and makes it look faint but trsut me it's VERY visible. Also I have other marks on my biceps from my shirt that kinda obscure it too but I'll send these for now wait a few min =)

Oh yeah and although the 2 circular marks look like fang marks it's from where I put in the syringe to try and lance it for anything but like I said nothing came up cept meager amounts of serum

I used to live just North of you in BC and I used to get spider bites like that all the time. Yours look more swollen though. Maybe you are more sensitive or are allergic.

I advise against popping them and stuff. It only irritates them more. Try some calamine lotion. It works well.

I'm from Minnesota and we get some odd spiders up here in the summer time and I've been bitten at least twice. Once was from a Jumping Wolf Spider (I'll tell ya those little bastards are not afraid of Humans), the other was from some kind of small brown ugly thing, not sure what it was. I was also bitten by a Barn Spider when I worked out in South Dakota at a hobby farm. But none of my bites were that large in size, but neither were the spiders so I guess that would make sense.

Isn't a Brown Recluse deadly if bitten?

most doctors are clueless about spider bites. A violin or brown recluse spider bite would cause tissue necrosis, but a black widow spider's venom is a neurotoxin. No necrosis, i.e. no amputation, just terrible pain.
If a spider bites you, don't try to open the wound with unsterilized equipment, because then you will only cause secondary infections, and no, antibiotics will not work for spider bites, unless you get a secondary infection in the bite. That pictures you see circulated on the web about a brown-recluse bites are normally caused by secondary infections. Just try to keep the bite clean, use some biocide on the bite, and cover it, don't mess with it.

It could be possible you had an inflamed Sebaceous Gland that turned into a Sebaceous Cyst (as you mentioned it went hard)

I suffer with a condition called Hidradenitis Supparativa. It's inflammation of the aprocrine sweat glands. Which are in places you wouldn't want to have inflammatory lumps and bumps.

They sometimes swell to golf ball size, are dark red and very painful, but can often shrink back down and become painless. Or they can erupt. Either just leaking blood and fluid or if a mild secondary infection sets in, sometimes some puss.

The reason i mention this is your scarring looks very similar to mine. My lumps often leave a dark purple/blackish patch or dark red patch where the inflammation has been.

If this ever happens to you again. Do not try and pearce it with any kind of needle or squeeze it as you could make things worse and give yourself a nasty infection. These types of things will either go down on their own or eventually come to a head and erupt on their own. If something like this persists, go see your GP.

Yes yes, could be a spider bite, could be alien abduction evidence. I mean, it could be 1000's of things, but jumping from spider bite to the LEAST LIKELY explanation of alien abduction (from someone with a lifetime interest in the subject too, odd that, huh?), do you really think that is such a good idea?

Haha yeah I know I guess I was in a paranoid mood. The other night I was relaxing under 2 electronically heated blankets and I saw a spider smaller than a daddy long legs kinda like what they show you in pics of brown recluses climb over me; I totally freaked out and jumped up hella excited from being half asleep. It was just eerie seeing that happen to my body as it was going thru the different stages because I couldn't come up with a logical explanation. Maybe a sebacious gland or quite possibly a lymphnode. I dunno but I still have the scar. 0.O
