A group of about 20 "Occupy Wall Street" protesters interrupted Rep. Michele Bachmann's foreign policy speech Thursday aboard the USS Yorktown, forcing her to temporarily abandon her speech.

Bachmann temporarily left the stage mid-speech under police escort after protesters stood up and started chanting about 10 minutes into her address.

The protesters, who read from a script, used the "human megaphone" technique as they shouted, "This will only take a minute... You capitalize on dividing Americans / claiming people that disagree with you / are unpatriotic socialists / and you promote discrimination."

Here's a video taken by someone at the event:

The full video can be seen at the linked MSNBC article.

I love the point the protestors are making:

"This will only take a minute... You capitalize on dividing Americans / claiming people that disagree with you / are unpatriotic socialists / and you promote discrimination."

Seems to fall in line with much of what is talked about here on ATS. Although it was disruptive, what other choice do they have other than taking their concerns directly to politicians? Politicians have shown time and time again that they care more about their campaign donors than The People.

In order to get the message out we are going to have to start stepping on toes and insulting some pride.

Only way to make people listen nowadays is to insult their pride.

Apparently, the OWS protesters don't care about anyone else's 1st Amendment rights. Typical.

BTW, I don't like Bachmann. I think she's a kook. But, she should be able to speak without being shouted down by a bunch of hypocrites.

The Constitution does not protect us from each other.

The Constitution protects us from the government.(in theory at least)

The protesters did not violate any rights, they may have been rude and belligerent but they did not step on anyone's rights.

Absolutely.

As I see it, if you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.

This is what will end the Occupy movement! This was a stupid move. If they had done this to Perry or Romney, then fine, but they did it to a Tea Party Conservative. We share and empathize with their movement, and they don't want to begin to alienate their supporters.

Most folks think we are idealogically opposed, but I disagree. It is just different means to the same end. We all know the government has to change dramaticallly. OWS is a wonderful movement in my opinion, even though I am a Tea Partier.

BUT, if they start attacking the good Conservatives like Bachmann, Johnson, and Paul, then they will lose their mainstream support and be stuck with the a toothless movement financed by the very people they claim to despise.

Hopefully they'll get their hands slapped by their counterparts and realize this sort of thing is a mistake.

This is why I had said more of these will come but targeting those of all political parties.

Yes, and they need to be targeting the mainstream, media whore politicians, not the fringe candidates like Bachmann. Attack the entrenched politicians, and the polished politicians with plenty of MSM Network support. That will be worthwhile.

I agree with what you are saying.

However, at times those lines are blurry and it is hard to tell who is who.
I see it as the fog of war.

They did it to a presidential candidate!!!

Not someone in elected office.

Weak.
Shameful.
Cowardly.
Pathetic.

I guess their first ammendment rights are more important than anyone elses.

As said above, this will be their undoing.

Disgusting!

Is Bachman not a member of The United States House Of Representatives representing Minnesota's 6th District?

Wow!

Drama!

Didn't the Tea Partiers get to foam all over the various politicians and representatives any old time?

I guess it's different for them because the majority are on medicare...

a Tea Party conservative???

An entrenched politician who has taken more money from government subsidies in her personal life
than 50 average citizens.
